HONEST REVIEW: Hillman's is a family owned bakery and local favorite for many. Walking in, there's lots to see – “like a kid in a candy store”. But ultimately what counts most for me is the taste. After a few tries over the past 5 years, I've found that their dessert pies, donuts and pastries are very bland seriously lack flavor! When eating a great pastry, you should know immediately after your first bite what flavor it is and be “wow’d” and anxious for another bite − but I don't get this at all with Hillman's. I agree that Hillman's is probably the best family owned local bakery in the area but it’s also the only one around so there's no real competition. Hillman’s is worth a try and their foods aren’t bad, but I find much better tasting pastries and donuts at Dunkin’s and the bakery section of Hannaford and Shaw's.
I recently received a stunning cake from Hilman's! I highly recommend them. The staff is incredibly talented!

Simply the best. I have been haunting independent bakeries for sixty plus years and I am happy to say that there are still a few of them out there. Thank you to the bakers and staff of a true, local institution.
