We popped in here on a Sunday night just for a quick drink, there was plenty of room to find a table even though quite a few people were eating. As you enter the courtyard area the bar to the right is mainly for the hotel and the normal pub bit is to your left. We looked at the menu to be nosey and it was all reasonably priced and from what we saw it looked very tasty. We would definitely call in here again and maybe... View all feedback.

The White Hart is a charming restaurant located near the town center and cathedral, offering plenty of cozy corners to enjoy a drink or meal, as well as a hidden outdoor courtyard "secret garden". The staff is friendly and provides prompt service without making you feel rushed. I visited for dinner with a non-vegetarian partner and was pleased to find a variety of options for both of us. They even offer a vegetarian option for their Sunday roast. I decided to try the lasagne (priced at around £7) with an additional side of chips (an extra £2), although the mushroom pie and buffalo cauliflower starter also caught my eye. The lasagne was decent, but the filling could have been more plentiful and had a strong celery flavor. I plan to return to sample the pie another time, but I was disappointed that they don't offer a vegan gravy to go with it. All in all, The White Hart provides a laid-back and affordable dining experience in a charming setting.

There is also a veggie option for the Sunday roast. I had the lasagna (approx. £7) with additional chips (other £2), although the fungus pie and buffalo flower starters also sound tempting. It was fine, although the filling was not plentiful and tasted quite celery-heavy. I'll go back and try the cake again, although it's a shame that they can't manage a vegan gravy to accompany them. Overall a relaxed and reasonable pub meal in a pleasant environment.

This pub on two sides of the alley looks amazing, with its dimly illuminated wooden interior and 'elaborate decoration'?. I came when the pub was not so busy...
The White Hart is an ideal local pub for a few quiet beers, which is more of an old style pub with real ales, bar billiards etc. The best...
