Although the restaurant looked appealing from the outside, the experience was disappointing for several diners. Dirty tables, slow service, and subpar food quality left many feeling let down. On a positive note, the cafe was praised for being family-friendly, with a welcoming atmosphere and plenty of toys for children to enjoy. The roast dinner special received high marks for good value and generous portions. However, issues such as slow service, lack of dessert options, and disappointing food quality marred the overall dining experience at this establishment. Despite mixed reviews, the friendly staff and cozy ambiance were highlighted as redeeming qualities.

What Leanne Walsh dislikes about The Snug:
Looked lovely from the outside but once in it really let us down. Seemed to be plenty of staff but the tables were dirty so we asked for one to be cleaned. Possibly should have just found somewhere else to eat but as we were...already in we persevered. The food took ages to arrive and unfortunately it was not worth the wait. Such a shame. Relax and unwind at The Snug, a wonderful family-friendly place perfect for young families. There is plenty to keep everyone entertained while enjoying a meal or a cup of tea and a slice of cake. The staff and customers are really friendly and welcoming, so you won't feel lonely there. I had a great lunch of sausages with egg and chips, a nice cuppa, and thoroughly enjoyed my visit. I might even come back next time with my niece and her young family.
Once again, an excellent quality breakfast thanks to Matt and Ace Simple, the best in Exeter, everyone should visit this cozy spot.
There was no food in the fridge, so I popped out for a quick lunch and ended up at the cozy spot of Sainsbury's! Lovely and welcoming cafe with very friendly staff, as you can see, the burger was very good and fresh with a side of salad, the fries were very good and some of the best I've had in a long time. The Wife's panini was also prepared perfectly and I enjoyed stealing some of her coleslaw which I'm sure was homemade and very nice. The two employees running the place seem to be very friendly and helpful, and the best part for us is that our dogs are welcome.

A group of us got in for approx 11am for breakfast, found a dirty table and cleared it ourselves after being seated for a while and realising the staff weren’t going to do it! Ordered at the counter to see the woman cook wearing her pj bottoms? Had some man i presume the owner hovering over us asking how many were eating and how long did we think we’d be as the table was reserved for lunchtime..at this point we had been waiting for 50 mins for our food, he was told depends on when you serve the breakfast!! The food was dire scrambled eggs were brought out looking pallid and was mistaken for an omelette as that over cooked..fried eggs were just as bad..never again..service awful..atmosphere terrible..think some courses in customer care wouldn’t go amiss
