This restaurant is amazing! They serve authentic Turkish food and the service is incredibly friendly. We stopped by on our way to the cinema looking for a place to eat, and we were not disappointed. Give it a try!

You will struggle to find better Turkish food! Everything is always fresh and perfectly cooked, meat is tender and well seasoned. Portions are good value for money and staff are polite and helpful.

We tried this during lockdown, popped into the grill to see what it looked like and chatted with the owner, who gave us some samples as we were talking. We ordered lentil soup, lamb doner, lamb beyti, and arranged forcollection. When we collected the food, we picked up a huge bag, which apart from the ordered items above had 3 beautiful breads, two salads, and a home cooked rice pudding and all in huge quantities!! So the food- so the lamb doner- this is a homemade doner and was full of lamb flavour, soft, juicy with crispy edges, just amazing, served with rice and vermicelli, all fabulously cooked. The lamb beyti was divine, well flavoured lamb mince wrapped in bread, and toasted over charcoal, which lent it a Smokey flavour, with charcoal grilled tomatoes, lebnah, and rice vermicelli- totally amazing flavours. Also we had a rich chilli tomato and a flavoured Labnah sauce to go with the food. The lentil soup was different to my usual experience, as I think it had added youghurt(? but was packed with flavour, and delicious, eaten with the fluffy, Turkish breads- mmmmm delicious. And finally, the man himself- really friendly, helpful and obviously an amazing chef!! All in all a totally amazing experience, one that we’ll repeat!!

Visited here with my Husband on the off chance six weekend ago and had a superb meal. Visited a further two times since as a result! Food is delicious- fresh, traditional, tasty and plentiful. Service efficient and friendly and atmosphere relaxed an cozy. Really cannot find anything negative to say and really glad Exeter is starting to get more unique independent restaurants like this. No doubt we will be back many more times!! Keep up the good work .

Eating was very tasty and friendly staff that offered us more about what we ordered. amazing experience must go there thanks to the meal.

Delicious food. really like her huh shish and grilled hallumi and mushrooms. reis pidding was also very delicious. everything is full of taste.

We’ve lived in the city 10 months and we keep coming back to Efes. My husband and I tell each other we should try other places but when we decide to get a takeaway we always land back here because the food is just so so good! We’ve gotten through a lot of the menu and liked it all but our favourites are the chips and cold meze platter. Eat here, you won’t regret it!

Great spot on sidwell street. Popped in for lunch and they were super friendly especially to our baby. We shared a hot mixed meze which for lunch which was great value and really tasty. Will definitely be back.
