The restaurant, with a very good location and plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors, offers a mixed experience according to reviews. While some patrons had excellent experiences with delicious food and fantastic service, others were disappointed by slow service, undercooked fish, and issues with table bookings. Overall, many customers enjoyed their meals and praised the attentive staff, but there were some instances where the service fell short of expectations. Despite some inconsistencies, the bright and airy indoor area was a hit with patrons, and many expressed intentions to return for another visit.

We live in Callington, our friends live in Weston Super Mare, we try to meet up regularly and Mill on the Exe is our perfect meeting place, as its middle distance for us all. More often than not, we have a fantastic carvery and a few drinks, overlooking the river, ambiance is soothing. Mick K View all feedback.

What MichaelB dislikes about Mill On The Exe:
Very good location with plenty of outside and inside seating. The drinks are expensive but the food and setting make it worth a visit. But how can a big operation like St Austel Breweries charge £4.10 a pint of Thatchers and Wetherspoons down the road charge only £2.65! View all feedback.

Generally underwhelmed. Nice location/building. Food overpriced and the steak sandwich was only available as rare or well done. Ale selection disappointing for a St Austell pub. Might visit again in the summer but for drinks only.

Nice location, reasonable choice of gluten free options, though we were disappointed they had run out of fish and chips.

Really awesome restaurant with great food and staff. Situated on the banks of the river Exe with a lovely view, it is a really comfortable space with a really good menu.

Fancy place with great food selection. Nearing summer you could come here and have dinner and have a nice walk down to the Quay. Cannot think of a better place to bring your first date. Mostly locals and much less students because of the steeper price compared to neighboring premises. A nice place set up down by the river to have a beer.

Ok. We went here for Sunday lunch today and I have to say, the staff and service were excellent but I was absolutely appalled at the amount of food I got for a roast lunch for £21!!! This is not a small amount of money for a communal lunch not a bespoke meal. I do NOT need quantity over quality and prefer the latter but my plate was less than half full when it arrived (a normal sized plate) I had two half slices of beef, one small floret of broccoli, one quarter parsnip, half a carrot, a small bit of cauliflower cheese and some scrapings of cabbage. The food was quite nice, not outstanding but it was ridiculous. I am not a large man. I am not a greedy man. But I expect to leave here feeling like I have been fed properly especially for £21 for what is a fairly well trodden path of a Sunday lunch. I am really, really, really disappointed and if they are struggling to make money with what they charged me then it is clear, they will not be in business for much longer. What a fall from grace in my eyes!
