Hub Box Exeter
Hub Box Exeter
Description
Visitors to a local restaurant report a variety of dining experiences, ranging from disappointing dishes to surprisingly pleasant service. While some patrons criticize undercooked burgers and tasteless nachos, others commend the friendly staff and cozy ambiance. The restaurant's busy pace, especially during peak times like the Christmas market, garnered mixed reactions; although service can be efficient, long waits for food are a downside. Some diners appreciate the diverse menu accommodating dietary needs, while others find prices steep. Overall, while the food may not consistently hit the mark, the vibe and service keep customers coming back.

The burger I ordered via UberEats arrived without the fried onions ordered and paid for. The bun was very soggy. The ‘salad’ content was beyond wilted and had combined with the small amount of cheese into an unappetising mush. The bacon was undercooked and chewy, the actual burger lacked flavour and had been cooking for so long it fell apart into granular pieces. Very disappointing. The only good part was the Uber delivery.
Great food and service, cater for all age groups so a nice mix of people around you, friendly and relaxed vibe. Made a refreshing change not to have an ‘optional’ service charge automatically added, hence was nice to feel you’re actually giving a tip for good service
Really busy place. Now, we visited when the Christmas market was on so I don't know if the hectic business is usual for a Friday lunchtime or whether it's a surplus influx of the sweaty masses......but it was a little unsettling. Showed to our table very promptly by a really pleasant chap and waited maybe five minutes for someone to take our order (no-one came initially to take a drinks order whilst we perused the menu so that's one star deducted). Restaurant temperature was on the chilly side, not helped no doubt by the entrance door that kept being opened by people looking for a table. Drinks arrived after ten minutes, food after an hour.......but it *was* busy so I guess if you want freshly cooked food you have to wait for it. We weren't asked if we wanted a drinks top up when the food arrived which is one star removed.......that's basic stuff. Food was really nice if a trifle overpriced (the burgers £15 don't come with fries and if you order fries then you get stung for another fiver). However, we went away satisfied. But there are other places to eat (especially if you go when the Christmas market is on). The Hubbox in Truro adds a 10% service charge to your bill, they don't here (or, at least, they didn't to ours).
Second time going to hubbox, absolutely loved it! Food was delicious and the chocolate shake I had was amazing!
