Hokkaido - Evans
Hokkaido
Description
Nestled in the heart of the neighborhood, this once-beloved restaurant is experiencing mixed reviews. While many patrons rave about the fresh, expertly prepared sushi and hibachi dishes, concerns over declining food quality and service have surfaced. Although the atmosphere remains inviting and the prices reasonable, some diners notice inconsistencies in portion sizes and dish execution. Highlights include standout sushi rolls and well-seasoned hibachi options, yet there are reports of overcooked fish and missed opportunities with service. Overall, it remains a viable choice for casual dining, but improvements in consistency and staff engagement could elevate the experience.

Keep up the amazing work. It is nice to have great Japanese in Augusta. Thank you and God bless!
Food: I had teriyaki chicken with vegetables and fried rice with Philly Rolls and Spicy Crab Rolls. The food is really good. Everything taste very fresh and very clean. Some Japanese restaurants’ rice taste like it’s been sitting out for a while. Hokkaido’s rice taste very fresh. The clear soup was perfect, with a good balance of broth. Salmon in sushi was also very fresh. Service: Service was good. Server was very nice tentative, and fast. Atmosphere: Atmosphere was very soothing. The feel of the restaurant feels calm, warm, and inviting. Lighting is perfectly low, maintaining functionality.
