I've eaten there a lot in the past and the staff was nice and food was good. Went back a couple of weeks and noticed all the good staff is gone. When I received my food I noticed the plate, and cup was not clean. The food was cold and the staff was rude.I forgot to mention the prices are too high. View all feedback.

Best BBQ around. Use to eat there often back in the 70's (we called it Gramps) when I worked as a forester with Union Camp. Been back several times since then and it is still good. I would go by more often but live in South America and the drive would be a little long. View all feedback.
I ALWAYS WANTED TO STOP IN AND TRY THERE BAR-B-QUE BUT NEVER GOT THE CHANCE TO. MY WIFE GOT A COUPON AND BROUGHT SOME HOME..IT WAS VERY GOOD AND THERE COLESLAW IS ALSO GOOD. IT IS EXPENSIVE BUT IT IS VERY GOOD.
Went to the Tarheel for a birthday party. I am local and had always wanted to stop, never had. Was anticipating good food and event. Ordered the barbecue and was served as were many others. Picked up the sauce bottle(clear plastic bottle with the tip cut off a little shorter than when bought new, like a refillable ketschup or mustard bottle), looked at what I thought was pepper floating on the top of the oil and vinegar, shook it on my barbecue. I was talking to the person next to me and they said what 's that? . I looked at my plate and the pepper in the sauce was actually flies that had crawled in the tip of the bottle and succumbed to the vinegar or the fact they could not get back out. I was appalled. I didn 't want to make a scene at the birthday party so I called the waitress over and showed her what had happened. I also checked the other bottles that had been placed out for use and found several of them in the same condition. Full of dead flies. The waitress laughed and said they would not charge me extra for the flies and when my husband and I were ready to leave they still charged us for the meal. I had not eaten the new plate they served either.
I have visited this restaurant for years. Though because of medical problems, it's been three or four years since my last visit. Over a period of some thirty years, I purchased all my pork bar-b-que and pork sausage from this facility. Quality of food and service have been outstanding. I hope to resume my periodic visits soon. If ricky and paige hedgepeth still own and operate the business, then you can find some of the best meat products anywhere.
