Woodman's upholds a five-star tradition! Here in Maryland, we certainly know our crabs, but some seafood options can be hard to find. For my wife's birthday, she expressed a strong desire for whole fried mussels, so I decided to call Woodman's in Essex, and it was the perfect choice. Ordering her fried mussels and clam chowder was a breeze, and the delivery timing was spot on. Everything was packed with great care an... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Woodman's Of Essex:
This small bowl of fried clams contains around 10 pieces, but unfortunately, about 4-5 of them had sand in them, and some were too large to eat comfortably. The bottom of the bowl was filled with fries. For $27 after tax, I wasn't impressed with the idea that each clam was worth about $2 when you take the fries out of the equation. Like other reviews have mentioned, the outdoor atmosphere was pleasant, the tartar sau... View all feedback.
Gluten freedom! not only is the food excellent, but they care about food sensitivities.
It was a completely random choice for our family to stop here, and we’re all SO GLAD we did!! Delicious, fast food, great atmosphere, and the ice cream out back was just as good as the rest of the food!
Oh my goodness the food is so delicious my husband and I went last Sunday and the food was so fresh!! I would highly recommend eating there any time of year 5 stars
Famous fried seafood restaurant it’s famous for a reason. They’ve clearly been doing this a while, they have a really good system in place here. Big parking lot, tons of tables inside, food comes out quick and everything is delicious. Nice beer selection, and since the bar is separate from the counter, you can grab a drink while you’re waiting for your food. It is a little on the pricey side, but I think you get what you pay for here. I’ve definitely paid less for bad fried seafood at other places. This is the correct choice for a fried seafood outing.
Down River Combo as shown. Front order, side pick, self service, huge parking lot. Honestly, there is nothing special about how they cook. Everyone fry seafood in the same way. But their meats are really fresh and tender as you can taste. The classic country-style dining room setting makes people feel at home. If you grow up in a small town and get tired of the fancy city life, this is a place to remind you the good old time. P.S., I wouldn?t recommend the fried lobster extra. It?s too small.
