Feedback
It's a new venu that is trying to find its feet, was great to try it out but the food Vs value just isn't there. Would I go back again... Probably. I feel it the new year they would have got there flow and the food would catch up with the venue finishes. The waiting staff where very good, new to the job it seemed but very polite and helpful.
The food is fairly average, which is a real shame. It 's good to see a place like this open in Epping, offering a modern British menu and there is definitely the market for a decent restaurant rather than the plethera of overpriced kebab places that pop up everywhere in Essex now. However, the food was just a bit 'Meh '...nothing was good, the steak at £36 (with no sides) was bland and poorly seasoned, the John Dory was ok, but poorly matched with padron peppers. My advice to the owners is to invest in hiring a top chef, people don 't mind paying good money if the food is good....it 's a nice venue, but I doubt I 'll come back again for the food.
I had a lovely experience at the restaurant. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the food was delicious, though it might be a bit on the pricey side. It would have been nice to have some acknowledgment of my partner's birthday, which I had mentioned in the reservation. Aside from that, we had a fantastic evening and will definitely return, especially if they open the cigar lounge soon!
I don't know how the place is, how we showed up for my birthday meal and the restaurant for renovations was closed. we even had a booking reminder on the day before. extremely disappointing!
Menu was a paper sheet so first impressions were not great, given the central London prices; we are used to small portions but main courses although tasty definitely needed side dishes, no vegetarian starter choices at all. Music was too loud in the dining area to enable us to talk.
