We have a lovely meal in Sika Restaurant for our 1st Year Wedding Anniversary. We had the pleasure of Daniel being our server on the day, he was marvelous. His manner so refreshing, he is extremely attentive, his menu knowledge was outstanding and was able to make great recommendations. He also surprised us with an anniversary plate at the end of our meal which was a lovely touch. Thank you Daniel for a lovely evenin... View all feedback.
What DawnS dislikes about Sika:
The starters mains we thought was poor. The desert was good. Service was just OK. Service were all very pleasant but forgot items we ordered. Left us asking for cutlery for all three guests and we had to ask for steak knives for two steak dinners. Salad was corse nothing delicate about it. Steak was tough like cheap cuts and fries were terrible. No veg with steak dishes. Expensive for what it was. View all feedback.
One of the best meals I've eaten. Staff were brilliant, food was incredible. Faultless.
Best breakfast buffet I've ever had. Great variety from fry up to waffles, pastries, yogurts and fruits.
Beautiful surroundings in the iconic Powerscourt. The food is, without exaggeration, the best I have tasted for some time. The surroundings are luxury, although the atmosphere is relaxed and pleasant. The staff are very friendly and efficient, and are obviously well-trained. There is plenty of secure parking with wheelchair accessibility.
Excellent food! Wonderful evening with a delightful view overlooking the hills and gardens. Truly an exceptional restaurant with friendly staff and excellent service. Dessert was memorable!
We visited on Easter Monday. we were a party of six. I was surprised with how poor this restaurant experience was given it is within a 5 star restaurant. The staff were friendly but poorly trained. The room lacked any atmosphere. This wasn't helped by the type of screeching overbearing jazz music that gives you a headache. We waited about 40 minutes before our order was taken. The menu was very limited. There were only four main courses. (A steak, salmon, a burger or enchilada). I ordered the burger and fries. The burger and fries were €24. The burger was truly awful. It reminded of the frozen rubbery supermarket burger we ate as children in the late 1980's. I generally can eat most foods when hungry. I drew the line at this. My daughter had the salmon. It was €27 and was the size of a small mobile phone. When we asked for tap water having ordered two bottles of sparkling water, the waitress never came back with the water. My wife ordered tea. It arrived with no milk. We waited 5 minutes to get the attention of a waitress who finally brought the milk for the now cold tea. One waiter began spraying the empty tables beside us with cleaning spray while we were still dining. We were a party of six but had no alcoholic drinks and only one desert, the bill came to €210 for lunch. Having read other reviews it is clear that this poor attention to detail and truly average food (for the price) has been prevalent here for some time. In my view, you would be better served heading to Avoca Handweavers in Kilmancanogue for a fine lunch with delicious desserts and a great atmosphere.
