We encountered some regular patrons who, displaying hostility towards those of English descent, made us feel uncomfortable both verbally and physically. This unfortunate situation forced us to leave earlier than planned and prompted us to contact the local Garda. It's disheartening to witness such behavior still occurring, especially in a pub that seems to endorse it. I won't be returning here, and it has soured my impression of what appears to be a lovely town. In contrast, my experience at The Abbey was entirely positive, and I highly recommend that establishment.

I searched for a window that overlooked the street since the rest of the pub was quite dim, but overall, it’s a beautiful pub.

I ordered a 15-year-old Redbreast whiskey and asked for just... read more I usually love this place—95% of the time, it’s great. However, I had one disappointing experience. I ordered a 15-year-old Redbreast whiskey and asked for just one ice cube, but the bartender dropped in three or four instead. To top it off, she asked me to pay in advance for my drink, which costs 13 euros, as if she didn’t think I could afford it. I’m a regular here, but this experience has left me reconsidering my visits. It felt like she was more focused on chatting with her friends at the other end of the bar than on serving customers.
