Fish. If you like it, they've got it. And good thing too because with LJS gone (Trust me I've got the inside on the previous owners and their practices. It's better this way) Emporia needed a place that had it as a staple. Occupying the building as my once beloved La Hacienda, Sam's is an alright place to pick up some southern style fry with that dash of cajun influence. Usually quick with portions that are relative... What Johnnie T doesn't like about Sam’s Southern Eatery:
Food was decent but I wouldn't write home about it. I had the shrimp po-boy that left something to be desired. However the bread it came on was actually really good I was surprised. View all feedback.
The chicken salad was huge and delicious. The waitress was on top of things. My companion didn't really like her fish plate.
The food is good when it is fresh however they really need to get a smaller fish and shrimp order. 1 fish and 3 shrimp maybe.
Fantastic fish, chicken, shrimp, fried green tomatoes, spicy pickles, plus!! Wonderful staff atmosphere. Great stop!!
The food is really good and plentiful. The kids could not eat all their food and the shrimp po-boy is to die for. I would go again.
Catfish was really good, shrimp were huge and tasty. Fries were the perfect amount of crisp! All in all a great little spot. Plus not a big chain dump.
