Bobbyd's Merchant St Bbq - Emporia

I ordered a brisket sandwich and cheesy potatoes for dinner tonight, and I'm not even sure there was any actual meat in the dry, fatty pieces I received. It was just a pile of shredded nothing. For $8, that's really disappointing. If I had the time and it wasn't so cold outside, I would have gathered my kids and gone back to ask for a refund. It's hard to support a local business that clearly doesn't care about the quality of the food they serve. They need to do better. Unfortunately, this experience has made it clear that I won't be coming back.

First visit and I was impressed! The service was incredibly friendly and the food came out quickly. The brisket was moist and flavorful, and the burnt ends were just as delicious. The fried okra was excellent and not greasy at all. The broccoli salad was also outstanding.

The BBQ was just average. The burnt ends weren't very tender and required a lot of sauce since they lacked flavor. The beans and coleslaw were satisfactory. The prices were reasonable, and the small-town atmosphere was pleasant.

Overall disappointing experience. Brisket was flavorless looked like pot roast. Rib was cold meh. The burnt ends were ridiculously tough. The turkey was very moist, but I get the feeling it wasn't smoked though. The beans were good. Friendlystaff I love the atmosphere. Sadly the food was a big let down.

The Big Buddy sandwich was amazing! So is the BBQ sauce. Jasmine was an excellent waitress. Service was fast, I got my food in about 10 minutes from sitting down. I definitely would come again and recommend to anyone.
