Contribute FeedbackThe George Evelyn, a pub with a fluctuating reputation, offers a mix of experiences. While some guests lamented unwelcoming staff and service issues, others praised the attentive and friendly team that ensured special occasions, like birthday parties and baby showers, went smoothly. The food ranges from delightful calzones to sensational pizzas, and although the dessert menu could use improvement, the overall ambiance—especially in the lovely beer garden—frequently receives commendation. Despite inconsistent service observations, the pub remains a potential favorite for those seeking a lively atmosphere and hearty meals. A visit could be hit or miss, but many leave with fond memories.
Visited this place on a Sunday. that was great. the staff was very friendly and attentive. calzone was beautiful and the bark roast was also great. they also have a woman there working out of the ukraine that was really good for our children. 100% recommended.
Roast was to an excellent quality, so many places can't do roasts. Service was also good.
The first time in this pub, but worst experience. the members of the staff looked unhappy and grumpy, I suppose they hate their job and not paid well enough. they hate to see customers. we went to another pub in thames ditton, eating was ok, but we were greeted with smiles and that makes great difference. this place was soon good as after my friends advice, but now we have faced new owners.
We chose the george evelyn, our 70th at the weekend with approx. 100 guests to host. the venue was perfect with a large garden with playground to occupy our many grandchildren. the buffet was more excellent, really top notch. but what turned out was the management and the staff, nothing was too much annoyed. they ensured that everything went smoothly, which meant that we could enjoy ourselves. absolutelyley recommend
Great kitchen, nice stuff, beautiful pub and garden. I like it
