Had a fantastic experience here recently. We were greeted warmly and seated promptly. I spent years in London and can't say there was a place I liked more than Claygate Averna. The food arrived hot and the flavors were delicious! The staff checked on us many times and were kind and helpful. I love that we are walking distance to the restaurant as we will be going back many more times. Highly recommended place to enjoy a delicious Italian meal. Price per person: £30–40 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
The pizza was the best ever, with a very large selection, Italian style. The staff were nice, giving lollipops to the kids. I’ve ordered a few takeaways already, every single time never failed to disappoint so a good time being there. Includes juice and desserts! This is a retrospective review about a dinner I shared with 5 friends. It was May bank holiday and my friend ordered a crab linguine. She ate the entire dish and very quickly became very very ill. From both ends. We couldn’t leave the restaurant due to the severity of her sickness. The staff were incredibly rude to us and denied any responsibility for the food poisoning stating that “everyone else was fine”. The waitress then proceeded to open the cubicle where my friend was sitting on the toilet with her head in a bin and I had to tell her to please leave. She did actually believe us after seeing my friend and so at the end the price for the crab linguine was thrown onto our table in coins. We were not difficult but we thought they would show a bit more care considering we were a group of paying customers. Wouldn’t go back and would advise giving this place a miss if you don’t want to be treated like lairs and potentially get nasty food poisoning. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 4
This restaurant is one of the top Italian dining options in the area. The pasta and pizzas are both excellent, and the service is also very good.
This restaurant is hands down the best in the village. The service, atmosphere, and food are all top-notch. The recommended dishes include Duck Breast, Fillet of Beef, Rib Eye Triple Cooked Chips, Broccoli Tender Stem, Peppercorn Sauce, Lasagne, Linguine Lobster, Panna Cotta, Spaghetti Carbonara, Wild Boar Ravioli, Creamy Seafood Risotto with King Prawns, Calamari Clams and Mussels, and Pizza Hawaii. The price per person is around £30-£40 for dinner. Overall, a fantastic dining experience.
