Reviews - La Poutine
Reviews summary
La Poutine offers a variety of traditional and vegan poutine options in a small, cozy venue. While some diners found the poutine underwhelming in taste and texture, others enjoyed the unique vegan offerings. The friendly staff and efficient service were highlighted, although prices were deemed a bit high by some. Overall, La Poutine seems to be a hotspot for poutine lovers looking for a quick and satisfying meal, whether dining in or taking out.

I really wanted to like this place. the inner is welcoming, the dame at the front was super nice, it seems like a chill spot. but the poutine was not good. I ordered the classic. the freshly cut fries were soggy, overcrowded, flimsy, thin and tasteless. the poutine sauce was thin and underseasonal. curds were in order, but even those could not supply enough salt to make the poutins tasty. I really want that la poutine goes well as I love local restaurants. I will give them another visit in the future, and hopefully the dinge are better.
Every time I'm in Edmonton, La Poutine gets a visit. Still consistently the best available in the city with great individual elements and a great mix.Curds just melting but not mush.Chips covered in enough gravy but not too soggy.Gravy thick but not gloopy. This time it was The Supreme featuring sour cream, bacon and spring onions on top of the traditional poutine excellent. As always, service is fast and friendly and they just leave you to it. Good work!Love you, LP. X
La Poutine makes a pretty good vegan poutine (well, not as good as mine, but you know, pretty close! . Their standard gravy recipe is vegan, and they offer Daiya cheese as well as other vegetable toppings. This is a good place for when you want to treat yourself to a little greasy-food binge. I prefer to go there in the summer, as there is very little indoor seating available. Your best bet is to get your order as takeout.
After I had discovered NY Fries poutine as a teenager I was hooked. When I went vegan I was sad that this was one of the things I would have to give up. Not anymore! Ooey gooey, cheezy awesomeness awaits those who dare enter! They also have some interesting ingredients like peas that you can add to your fries. The only downfall I find about it is that the pricing is a little steep. It is twice the price of normal poutine and finding a spot to sit and eat in the small resteraunt is never easy. Parking is always a pain in this area as well. Still tastiness wins out.
They serve Vegan poutine, its delicious If you aren't a poutine fan just go for fries and vegan gravy...

Nic fresh potatoes and toppings. Friendly service. Great place to go for a snack near the UAlberta main campus.Food: 5/5
No bells and whistles here, you can walk right past the place it's so small and inconspicuous. I'm not an expert on Poutine but damn, the traditional was really, really good. Definitely the kind of place I'd come back to if I was visiting longerFood: 5/5
Kids sharing traditional poutine outside on Canada Day. They all gave it a thumbs up.Food: 4/5
Er.mer.gerd. We just found out about this place today (Canada Day) and we figured, “What’s more Canadian than having Poutine on Canada Day?!” so we drove the 30 minutes to get there, and we were NOT disappointed! The menu is huge and every item sounds amazing! We tried the “Double Double” (IYKYK), “The Big Mac” and “The Hot Wing” and all 3 of them were a 10/10! I would absolutely recommend this place to any and everyone. We will absolutely be going back again and again. The only downside is that it’s very, very small in terms of tables and poutine is kind of a sit-down-to-eat food (IMO), but all in all this place is 10/10.
Nice little place to get a good poutine. Note there is limited seating area, and in the summer there are some tables outside. For there are only a couple of tables and is a very cozy space. There are a number different variations to choose from and I feel they are all wonderful! There are also vegan and gluten free options as well, which makes it a nice place for folks with dietary concerns. The staff are always lovely and friendly and very helpful when it comes to trying to figure out the right poutine for you!Vegetarian options: They have vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options.Parking: Difficult to find parking on a busy evening or weekday. But there's either free or paid street parking around the area.Dietary restrictions: They have vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options, be sure to mention to the server for your options.

Excellent! The service was top-notch. I have a sensitivity to wheat but not celiac disease, and I had no problems at this restaurant.
Delicious poutine but I got glutened. I should have known when the lady at the till asked 2 times the cook if it was gluten free. Too bad. It was a long road home.
Very knowledgeable on GF options, its super clear written on the menu and it was delicious! the food came out very quickly and will buy again gf gravy packages for home!

This small and charming restaurant was a pleasant surprise to stumble upon while biking. The server was friendly and accommodating, and although there was no indoor seating available, we enjoyed sitting at one of the two picnic tables outside. We tried the taco poutine and found it tasty, prompting us to consider returning to sample other menu items in the future.
Parking can be difficult, so be prepared to search for a spot. The seating area is small but cozy. The service was friendly and efficient. It would be great if they offered smaller portions of non-traditional dishes to try. The prices were reasonable.
I ordered the regular Big Mac poutine and my daughter got the gluten-free taco poutine. We placed our order through Uber Eats. I appreciate the variety of choices and delicious options available. I enjoyed my meal, although I may opt for double meat next time as it seemed a bit lacking. Despite the great flavors, I did find the fries to be a bit soggy, but this could be due to the delivery method. I will definitely order from this restaurant again in the future.
The vegan poutine at this restaurant is excellent. I was pleasantly surprised that they can make half of their menu vegan, which is quite unique for Edmonton. I would recommend this restaurant to any tourists in the area looking to try authentic Canadian cuisine.
I visited this restaurant for the first time today with some friends and we all really enjoyed it! We ordered both the traditional and the edgy veggie poutine. The fries were delicious and tasted fresh, and the cheese curds were also good, although a bit large for my preference. I ended up cutting them smaller. The gravy could have been a bit thicker, but it still had a good taste. I would love it if they added a pulled pork poutine to the menu! I will definitely be returning.

Very knowledgeable on GF options, its super clearly written on the menu and it was delicious!! Food came out very quickly and will be returning to purchase GF Gravy packets for home!
Eaten here and ordered from here multiple times and never gotten sick. dedicated fryer and very good poutine
Took great care with the poutine. Had the perogy poutine, gravy was delicious. Overall some of the best gf poutine I’ve had in a long time.
Omg AMAZING! Menu clearly marked with which versions can be made gluten free! The person taking our order walked me through how they prepare it in a separate area without me asking. He even warned me that my gluten free version would look the same as the regular version. Felt super safe eating here and it was so good!
