For the food and service, I would give this place a solid 4 starsBut because of the cocktails, this place gets a 5 star rating.
A real touch of class, incredible food and wine with a really relaxing and friendly ambiance. Well worth a visit
I didn’t know what to expect as this was reservation was made for me. We were a party of in the evening and had the best meal during my visit to Edinburgh. I started with Oysters, half traditional the other half a variety of creative arrangements (the Champagne Oyster was amazing). Fantastic cocktails too. Then moved on to a Chateaubriand for two. Excellent! The side dishes were equally great. Fantastic service, excellent Bordeaux wine at a reasonable price. I would return here and highly recommend.
Nice lunch and excellent service from friendly staff.
We went here for dinner. The restaurant is upscale and yet very comfortable. The food was delicious. The occasion was a special one so perfect for the evening.
The restaurant has received a plethora of positive reviews, with diners praising the staff for their friendly and helpful service. Many guests highly recommended the restaurant, with some calling it the best French restaurant they have visited in the UK. The exquisite food, sourced locally, was a standout feature for many, with dishes like hand-rolled tagliatelle with truffle puree and scallops receiving high praise. We went to this bar because Rankin mentions it in a book. It's a boring bar, atmosphere is sad, no place to come back to. We had one drink and left within 15 minutes.
Really atmospheric pub with lovely bar staff. The fireplace made it extra cosy and the beers were nice.
A Proper Pub. Does not serve food. This is the way we like it. Friendly people and good beer. Thank you for welcoming us all the way from Wales
A very interesting pub a Ian Rankin haunt. Good fire and interesting photos and pictures.
Great place for a whisky and conversation. 12 stars

The meal was absolutely incredible. The staff were exceptional - very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and the portion sizes were just right. The restaurant's interior is both cozy and modern, creating a lovely atmosphere. We truly enjoyed our dining experience and would highly recommend it to anyone.
We were recommended this place by a kind stranger in the smoking section and I am grateful for their suggestion. The staff at Honours really know what they're doing. Despite not having a reservation, we were able to get a spot at the bar. The music was at a pleasant volume and the lighting created a cozy atmosphere, even at the bar. The food was absolutely delicious. It was authentically good and sourced locally, with a varied menu. The parmesan risotto was a creamy delight. Our mains of hand-rolled tagliatelle with truffle puree and scallops, Moroccan lemon chicken, potatoes, and French beans were especially enjoyed. The highlight of the meal was the Honours sundae, which was a delightful surprise with toffee caramel ice cream, honeycomb, pecans, caramelized banana, and tiny chocolate pieces that bubble and pop in your mouth. Overall, it was definitely worth the visit.
Absolutely amazing, no complaints at all. We had a fantastic birthday meal and it was our first time dining at a high-end restaurant since a disappointing experience at Tom Kitchen a few years ago. This restaurant has definitely reaffirmed our belief in excellent food and service.
The best French restaurant I have been in the UK so far. Went there for a business lunch on a friend's recommendation. Had the set menu salmon, duck leg and soufflé. The food was exquisite. Highly recommended.
Great lunch at exceptional value. And very good service too!
