I was a big fan of Ting Thai Caravan, so I had high expectations when I visited Saboteur. Unfortunately, the Tom Yum soup lacked flavor and the Pho was bland. I felt overcharged for extra prawns, and the broth seemed to be just hot water with sriracha and soy sauce. The stir-fried noodle dish was too salty and lacked authentic flavors. As an Asian, I was very disappointed with my experience at Saboteur.

I really enjoy this restaurant as a go-to spot for a quick meal near the university campus in Edinburgh. Their vegetarian dishes and curries are delicious and I appreciate the healthy options. The interior can get quite crowded, especially on weekends, with tables placed very close together. Personally, I prefer getting takeaway, but overall, it's a great choice for a range of occasions and tastes.

This was my first time visiting Sabatour and I'll definitely be back. The staff were very friendly and the food was really tasty. I had the bao buns and the chicken satay skewers. They were both great.

Decided that we go Vietnamese this trip since we have always been going for Western. After reading the reviews of this restaurant, we decided to give it a try and honestly, wasted my time and stomach space! The summer roll which we tried was ok/passable though the sauce that went with it was 'too fusion ' .. Raw beef and beef ball pho the broth!! The broth was soooo watered down/diluted! I would not even classify it as broth more like some paste mixed with hot water and viola, pho served! I didn 't want to waste my food and thus, requested for salt and lime/lemon from a waiter (only a guy and a lady were serving that afternoon 14 March). Waited for 5 minutes and the so called broth was getting cold, I walked up to him and asked him again he was busy, doing some stuff on his computer!!! He requested me to get back to my seat and I said, I 'll wait and reluctantly, he went to get the salt and lime/lemon. Unacceptable service!! Not recommending anyone to this place at all .. we were sabotaged!

Booked a table for 5:45pm, arrived and were seated by then. As we were looking at the menu, somebody came over and explained that they were switching to the dinner menu at 6pm (it was 5:50pm at the time , so they replaced our menus with ones containing identical dishes, but for £2 more. Ordered a stir fry noodle dish, and asked them to COMPLETELY HOLD THE CHILLI. Dish arrived with an enormous pile of chilli flakes on the side, rendering a decent amount of it inedible for chilli phobes. Ordered dumplings, were asked if we wanted chicken or veg asked for chicken, got veg. Bao buns were stale and had clearly been made earlier then reheated (they were crispy on the outside! . Pork belly had also been reheated, was very fatty, and drowned in a very strong BBQ sauce to hide the fact it wasn't in great shape. Chicken satay also clearly reheated, tough, and drowned in a (pretty nice sauce to hide the fact. There were a couple of decent dishes the stir fry noodles were good (chilli notwithstanding , and we had a chicken stir fry that was really tasty. But we were probably 2/7 on decent vs terrible, and the service was all over the place during most of this as well. Asked for the bill, and while waiting for it to come, spotted a nice mouse trap behind one of the bench seats opposite us. So that was nice. Genuinely have no idea why people give this place good reviews.
