Reviews praise Prezzo’s food, views and value set menu; note variable service, occasional mix-ups and a lively, sometimes noisy atmosphere near the entrance.
I visited Prezzo during a brief visit to Edinburgh. It looked great in the photos, so I decided to give it a try. When we arrived at the restaurant on time, we had to wait 5 minutes to be greeted as the front of house staff kept disappearing to attend to other customers. We were seated at a small table, even though we had booked a booth online. The atmosphere was loud and we felt ignored, having to get up and go to the bar to request drinks on a couple of occasions. The only positive aspect of our visit was the food, which was delicious and well-prepared. Overall, we were disappointed with our experience and had hoped for a better time.
Had the set 2 course for £10 menu Food excellent value and VERY tasty. Service excellent staff friendly and helpful, So impressed we went for meal twice out of our 3 night stay in Edinburgh, Not too busy and all COVID precautuions in place and adhered to.
3 of us went for evening meal. All 3 starters were excellent. The set menu is good for the price. Thursday to Sunday definitely looked the best option! Our mains were all very tasty, well prepared and good quality. Perfect service from our waitress. The salmon and king prawn risotto was so good! I was told that the meatballs were also excellent. Much better than the other Italian chain further up. Would definitely return!
We recently had dinner at Prezzo in Edinburgh and chose the set menu. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The restaurant was very clean and followed COVID guidelines well. There was a slight shortage of staff, so we had to wait 15-20 minutes for our bill, but it wasn't a big issue. We would definitely go back.
Booking online was a breeze. The restaurant had clear Covid guidelines and precautions in place. The food was delicious, reasonably priced, and the service was excellent. The toilets were clean, there was a clear one-way system, and tables were well-spaced. It did get a bit crowded near the entrance when large groups arrived, and it was a bit noisy next to the kitchen, but it was enjoyable to watch. We had the option to order using a phone scan, although we ended up ordering directly from our waitress. It was a pleasant change to dine without having to deal with loud, generic music drowning out our conversations. Overall, we would gladly dine here again.

Regulars often single out the pizza and the salmon & king‑prawn risotto as standout dishes—ordering one of those is a safe bet. A named server (Pavel) received special praise from guests, so if you get the same team you might get particularly attentive service. If you want a quieter experience, mention a preference for a booth away from the kitchen when you book.
