Originally known as the Tally Tower Fish Chicken Bar, named after the iconic Martello tower in the Leith docks, the restaurant underwent a transformation in the early 90s, adopting the name Pierinos after its first refit. With hard work and determination, Pierinos has grown into one of the most renowned takeaways in the area, now proudly operated by Pierino's sons, Domenico and Adriano. They are committed to expanding the business while consistently providing exceptional food and service to both locals and visitors alike. Every Wednesday, the restaurant features gluten-free options, including fish and chips (served with gluten-free vinegar), battered sausage, fish cakes, and onion rings. The box was clearly labeled with a gluten-free sticker. I found the fish and chips to be quite good, while the battered sausage was outstanding. The service was excellent and very friendly.
I've ordered dinner from here a few times, and they offer a separate gluten-free menu through their app. It's not worth using Deliveroo, as the options are limited. It's better to stick with their own app for ordering.
