Upon entering you are greeted with a lovely look... read more Was in Edinburgh on holiday with my other half and booked here as it was only a half hour journey from my digs. Upon entering you are greeted with a lovely looking pub atmosphere and guided to table efficiently. A jug of water was put down on table I thought this was a nice touch having just walked half an hour to get to papillon and our drinks were ordered and shortly after that the food. The food was lovely and good portion sizes the mushroom sauce I had with my chicken and linguine was amazing I highly recommend. The price value for what we ordered was great not much spent that night. The only reasons I didn’t give this place 5 stars was 1 the menu was too basic not a lot of choice and 2 there was quite a lot of drinks off however I would never let this deter me from coming back!!

Good coffee but don’t cater for non diary alternatives which is a shame as a good coffee menu is available, we were surprised they don’t offer, almond milk, skinny milk etc. Not too busy with the rugby and nicely set up to watch sports. Service was a little slow and although whisky options, not listed ok the menu and wait staff not aware what was available. Nice place though and would go back

We received excellent service fro... read more When we arrived, the restaurant was quiet, but it soon got busier. The menu had a good variety, including some great specials. We received excellent service from Roxanne, who was very attentive. The atmosphere was pleasant, enhanced by the lovely background music. Everyone was pleased with their choices, especially my partner, who considers himself a bit of a fish and chips connoisseur. He said it was the best he’d had in a long time, praising the wonderful batter on the fresh fish. We will definitely be returning!
