we live in a hotel next door and were pulled out for a board and say vegan breakfast options. please find somewhere that opens early on Sunday. the Vegan breakfast was different and not only a runway of the mill token effort included haggis and a Beetroot bakery thing. many other vegan options also. What User doesn't like about Loudons Cafe And Bakery New Waverley:
veggie power bowl was very small. the three falafel balls were tasteless, dry and the worst falafel I've ever had. the flower coal was completely tasteless. should have been half the price as these portions. View all feedback.
Love the new location at New Waverley it seems there are more covers here than at their Fountainbridge cafe, so you're less likely to be stuck in a queue for a table during the weekend. Loudons has lots of options for vegan breakfast and lunch. Their menu labelling isn't very clear, but the staff are happy to help adapt dishes to whatever dietary requirements you have, including vegan and gluten free. Their spiced sultana pancakes are vegan, their full veggie breakfast can be made vegan and their hot filled rolls have lots of vegan filling options including vegetarian haggis, veggies sausages and potato scones. The vegan benny is my personal favourite, with garlic spinach, roasted courgette and mint aioli.
Tons of GF options and they were very careful not to cross contaminate. Lots of GF cakes too!
Lot's of gluten-free options, almost everything is possible from the menu!
The Veggie Power Bowl was disappointingly small. The three falafel balls were bland, dry, and the worst I've ever tasted. The charcoal was flavorless as well. The portion sizes should have been larger considering the price.
I did not get sick after eating here. It was a positive experience with plenty of menu choices available.
