Was Karsyn Bonora at Kick Ass a mag?
I just got back from a 5-day trip to Edinburgh, staying at Kick Ass, and the location couldn’t be better! It was hilarious how my friends and I kept ending up back at the hostel while exploring around. Everything we wanted to see and do was within walking distance—just be ready to tackle some hills. The staff were super friendly, especially James at check-in, who went out of his way to help us find the best route to... View all feedback.
What IMRON ZULFIKAR dislikes about Kick Ass:
Great hostel situated in the heart of the city, near numerous popular tourist attractions. The room was decent, clean, and well-kept, although the bathroom was sometimes untidy and occasionally ran out of toilet paper. Nights can be noisy because of nearby bars, pubs, and traffic. Service rating: 4. View all feedback.

The staff were super friendly, especially James at check-in, who went out of his way to help us find the best route to Dean Village. Everyone else we met was just as kind and willing to help with any questions. We had an incredible time in Edinburgh, and our stay at Kick Ass Greyfriars was a big part of that. Don’t miss checking the chalkboard at reception for great local tips! Service: 5 stars.

Pros: Convenient location, affordable prices, decent walkability, offers both food and a bar, and lockers available for rent before or after checkout. Cons: Room lockers are smaller compared to another hostel I’ve stayed at, the room felt hot and stuffy at night with poor air circulation, the “female only” room was actually occupied by males when I arrived, and the bathroom, with only two toilets and two showers, was quite dirty and cramped. Service: 3/5
The bartender told my friend not to use his veteran card, even though he has been serving as a reservist sub-lieutenant for over a year. My friend usually doesn’t share much, but he was happy to explain more and even mention his unit once he found out the bartender was also ex-Navy. An apology from the bartender would be appreciated, even if it was a genuine mistake. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
