Was User at The Beaten Docket a mag?
Big pub with a beautiful inviting atmosphere, but the music from the jukebox was so loud that we left after 1 drink. I wish we could stay longer, but we couldn't talk-shame as I liked the place. View all feedback.

We had a wonderful evening at the restaurant. The staff was fantastic—everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. We truly enjoyed our time together. Thank you for taking such great care of us!
Great night and the bar staff were lovely very nice and friendly
The best pub in Portobello! The staff and customers are very friendly, and the prices are great—averaging £3.20 for a pint. They have BT Sports playing on two TVs, one in the main area and another in the lounge. Homemade food will soon be on the menu, expected to start around the end of February 2018. Definitely worth a visit when you're in Portobello!
This is a large pub with a beautiful and welcoming atmosphere. However, the music from the jukebox was so loud that we decided to leave after just one drink. I would have loved to stay longer, but it was difficult to have a conversation. It's a shame because I really liked the place.
Decent boozer was a quiet evening when we were in, not much going on. Felt covid safe and staff were friendly enough. Was cash only.
**The Beaten Dock: A Mixed Bag of Experiences** The Beaten Dock, a lively pub near Portobello, boasts a welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff, making it a popular spot for drinks and live music. The dart game adds to the entertainment, and the prices are reasonable. However, some patrons reported challenges with the loud jukebox music, which detracted from conversations. While plans for a food menu are on the horizon, the current cash-only policy and mixed service experiences—some guests feeling unwelcome—suggest potential improvements are needed. Overall, this venue offers promise, but future visits may depend on addressing these concerns.
