The place was nice and clean insi... read more Never have been here before just noticed it on the drive buy and my son wanted to try some mexican food on his visit out here. The place was nice and clean inside and the wait staff was very nice. The food, however, was just mediocre at best, and there was no flavor or seasoning in my fajitas or my son's boritos. Chili's has better seasoned and flavored fajitas and food. The food all came super fast which makes me think it was reheated and it tasted like it was. Sorry but will not be returning. Some of the worst mexican food I have ever had.

Three of us stopped by Compadres around 2 on a Saturday afternoon; the server could not answer ANY of our questions about menu items/adult beverages; her respon... read more Three of us stopped by Compadres around 2 on a Saturday afternoon; the server could not answer ANY of our questions about menu items/adult beverages; her response each time was I don 't know, I 'm kinda new We my friend and I are vegetarians ordered a simple side of Beans, topped with cheese as there weren 't Any vegetarian options. We asked if the cooks could leave the meat OUT of particular dishes, which again we were told I don 't really know, I 'm kinda new here. Our order was very simple 2 waters one cocktail this took about 20 minutes to receive; there were 2 other dinners besides my party and although she was Kinda new, she knew the other server 3 cooks well enough to stand and chit chat in the area in front of the kitchen.Having ordered 2 sides of beans and 1 basic Mexican dish tortillas, meat filling, cheese over everything we were Astounded that only one order of beans arrived and the other dish. We waited and waited for the other side no, it never appeared. Finally I went to where all 5 of them were chatting and asked about the missing side this was my friend 's meal! the server looked at me, dumbfounded, and said, again, Oh I 'm kinda new ... She had Written our order down. In ink. On paper...and yet.. My friend and I shared my side and paid the bill; as we were leaving, I mentioned to the young woman, Very Politely, that the next time she Didn 't really know ' about menu items, that she ASK ONE OF THE 4 OTHER People Working there.. I had been a server for 10 yrs, in my late teens 20s, so I knew the protocol when you 're not certain about an item, preparation, substitutions, etc We most definitely will not be returning to Compadres in Edinboro, PA. Vegetarian options: None, except beans with cheese; a side dish. Dietary restrictions: There are no options according to our server; ingredients can 't be left out or, apparently even mentioned to one of the cooks to see if an ingredient COULD BE left out of a dish. And she hadn 't any idea of the most basic dish 's options for dietary restrictions.Very, very disappointing.We went to the back side of Compadres, which is a local Edinboro restaurant as compared to a chain restaurant like Compadres and had a Wonderful server; Nate, who was not only knowledgeable but also friendly and engaging. He offered to have the cooks alter the appetizers we ordered to fit our vegetarian needs, asking specific questions as to what could be left in or out of the appetizers We were still quite hungry after leaving Compadres and went above and beyond to make our fining experience there, memorable and lovely.Conclusion: Compadres ???The local restaurant BEHIND Compadres which has outdoor dining and is right on the lawn surrounding Edinboro Lake we which gives you a pleasant view and dining experience, ???????And stars for Nate, our server there.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, they have a special where you can get three soft or hard shell beef tacos for just $8. My daughter ordered the beef tacos, but they kindly allowed me to substitute beans for beef at no extra charge. I really enjoy dining there and will definitely be back!
