The place was nice and clean insi... read more Never have been here before just noticed it on the drive buy and my son wanted to try some mexican food on his visit out here. The place was nice and clean inside and the wait staff was very nice. The food, however, was just mediocre at best, and there was no flavor or seasoning in my fajitas or my son's boritos. Chili's has better seasoned and flavored fajitas and food. The food all came super fast which makes me think it was reheated and it tasted like it was. Sorry but will not be returning. Some of the worst mexican food I have ever had.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, they have a special where you can get three soft or hard shell beef tacos for just $8. My daughter ordered the beef tacos, but they kindly allowed me to substitute beans for beef at no extra charge. I really enjoy dining there and will definitely be back!

The server was unable to answer any of o... read more Three of us visited Compadres around 2 PM on a Saturday afternoon, and unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. The server was unable to answer any of our questions about the menu or drinks, repeatedly stating, "I don’t know, I’m kinda new." Since two of us are vegetarians, we ordered a simple side of beans topped with cheese, as there were no vegetarian options available. We also inquired whether the cooks could omit meat from certain dishes, but again, we were met with "I don’t really know, I’m kinda new here." Our order was very straightforward—just two waters and one cocktail—but it took about 20 minutes for these to arrive, despite there being only two other tables occupied. While the server claimed to be inexperienced, she seemed comfortable chatting with the other server and three cooks in the kitchen area. We ordered two sides of beans and one basic Mexican dish consisting of tortillas filled with meat and topped with cheese. To our surprise, only one side of beans was brought to us, and the other dish was missing its accompanying side. After waiting for what felt like an eternity, I finally approached the group of five chatting staff members to inquire about the missing side, which was supposed to be for my friend. The server looked confused and again said, "Oh, I’m kinda new…" despite having written our order down in ink on paper. In the end, my friend and I had to share the one side of beans, and we settled the bill before leaving. As we departed, I politely suggested to the young woman that the next time she was unsure about menu items, she should ask one of the four other staff members there. Having worked as a server myself for ten years, I understand the protocol for handling uncertainties about dishes, preparations, and substitutions. Unfortunately, we will not be returning to Compadres in Edinboro, PA.
