Cub is about as good as any other supermarket, no problem there. I am writing regarding their food donation bags. We had been paying to donate the $20 bag every week, then one day we asked the cashier what's in them. He didn't know but opened the one we'd paid for. There were 7 or 8 random granola bars. And not even healthy ones. I had assumed the contents would be staples pasta, peanut butter, cereal, that sort of thing. We now donate to Second Harvest, where $20 goes much farther than a handful of granola bars.
I find this store a cut above other Cubs in the area. It has more of the specialty gourmet foods and equipment that I enjoy. I'm not wild about traditional grocery stores, but this one is good.
However, today, November 13, 2022, at 6:11 PM, after returning to the same location to make a purchase this afternoon, I checked the back of the money order and realized that I had been misinformed. I'm not sure what kind of game you're playing, but this has wasted my time. I called again at 6:11 PM to speak to a manager, and Mike answered the call. He seemed to pretend he didn't understand what I was saying and told me that I would need to call back tomorrow. I am frustrated with the level of incompetence I've encountered and expect a refund, as well as compensation for my time. Additionally, I believe that everyone I spoke with regarding mobile deposits should be held accountable and removed from their positions. My complaint is registered under BBB case number 18398803.
This place is always well-stocked, even before holiday weekends when many markets tend to look empty. They offer a wide variety of organic produce, a good selection of flowers, and the staff is friendly and helpful.
