Fantastical?... read more Imagine a three and a half hour vegetarian degustation whilst dining in the Lyon countryside at a Michelin star restaurant, in a chateau. Magical? Fantastical? Mythical? Reality. The food was delicious, the service was sophisticated, and I felt I brought the general tone of the place down by an order of magnitude just by being there. It remains the best food and fine dining experience I have ever had. It's all downhill from here I'm afraid. Of note, our omnivorous dining companions found the meat based degustation to be similarly mind blowing. Special mention to our head waiter weronika. She led an army of wait staff that presented course after course in an unrelenting battle against our waistlines and our better judgement. They won.
