Coffee is the best and quickest in town (for takeaways) with super friendly and efficient service. We've been here for brekkie and lunch with group sizes up to 15 people and can always rely on great service and yum food.

We went here for breakfast to celebrate a special age birthday.Were told someone would come to take our order if we found ourselves a seat.We did find a seat...... read more We went here for breakfast to celebrate a special age birthday.Were told someone would come to take our order if we found ourselves a seat.We did find a seat.... Only to sit for almost an hour whilst everyone around us who arrived later than us had their order taken. Wasn't impressed but then was interested to see how long it would take to get to us. Another 40 minutes ( so 1hr 20mins after arrival) our order was taken. 2 Serves of Eggs Benedict a green tea and a flat white. We LOVE eggs bene so were excited...... In hindsight I'm unsure why?It took almost an hour (50 mins) for our food to arrive, there was very little bene sauce and eggs were hard poached! Bacon was more like ham steak, not very appetising at all. We ate and waited, and waited, and waited yet another half hour after we finished our meal and still no cuppa. I went to the proprietor and said cuppa's at table 1 still hadn't arrived..... His response was... " well you'll get them somewhen". Then another 20 mins later they arrived. We had actually considered walking away without paying the bill. I think 3 hours for 2 serves of eggs bene and 2 cuppa's is beyond ridiculous and the price was just shy of $50 so I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone. First really bad review I've written ... i can usually find a positive but not with this place. Food and attitude was less than impressive.

Everyone ordered breakfast and the staff had no problem accommodating us and ensuring that we all received our meals simultaneously. The food was wonderfully fresh and reasonably priced. I highly recommend dining at this cafe.

The ser... read more I had breakfast at The Odd Captain this morning and it was clear that they were very busy because they were one of the few cafes open on New Year's Day. The service from the staff and management was excellent. Their efforts to exceed expectations were very apparent. The coffee was the best I've had in Echuca. I would definitely recommend this as my top choice in town for food and drinks.

The service was fast and left us with time to enjoy other activities. There was a good variety of food and drinks available. We are happy to recommend this restaurant.
