Killer breakfast. Didn't care for the community style table set-up, but the French toast and bacon were the best I've had at a breakfast joint in probably a couple years.
I had a Western omelet and a biscuit. It was an omelet bigger than anywhere else I've ever had an omelet from, and it was packed full. The food was delicious and the service was fast and friendly. Service: Dine in Meal type: Breakfast Price per person: $1–10
I’m a truck driver, stopped at the Loves truck stop across the road from this restaurant. The food and service was top notch. I had breakfast there and am going back for lunch! Not too many down home places like this left out here. Be sure to support this one when you’re in the area..
We visited on a Sun for lunch. My wife loves breakfast for lunch and the Scenic Cafe offers breakfast all day. It was a one man show, perhaps it always is. Small space, but functional. You can give your order from your table to the cook/server/cashier behind the counter. He was focused on the job at hand, but could banter with the best of them as needed. The food was great! Home cooking and everything to order. Good sized portions and very well prepared. Don't expect fast, especially if there are several customers. This is a bit of a dive kind of place. It's clean enough, but not spotless. If you need spotless or fast, go to the Loves truck stop across the road. Wife ordered scrambled eggs, bacon, (she likes extra crisp , hash browns and toast. Bacon was 4 strips of long, thick cut bacon with great flavor. I suspect it normally comes crisp, so the extra crisp request was unnecessary. Hash browns were a nice portion and crisped to a golden brown while still moist on the inside. Eggs were properly cooked. I got the breakfast burrito and it was a size able portion of various goodies with sausage, tomato, onion, bell pepper, cheese and more. I wasn't brave enough to attempt to pick this bad boy up and eat it that way, and don't even think about eating this on the run or you'll be wearing it! A nicely toasted flour tortilla wrapped it up. I knife and forked it's goodness and enjoyed every bite. Our only negative was a few sugar ants on the jam bottles on the table. Grossed my wife out, but I'm not as delicate. ; A little more cleaning at the end of the day wouldn't hurt.
We are truck drivers, so its not to often we get home cooked food. When we do its never home cooked. Today, we parked at the Loves in Eastview, Tn. And saw this place across the road. All I can say is... It was amazing!! We got biscuits and gravy. Im not talking about some canned gravy. Im talking about, the man actually made it to order. It was amazing! A taste of Grandma's southern cooking! We highly recommend! If your a trucker. Its worth the 2 minute walk across the street!
