What MeldrewVictor likes about Mauretania:
The Mauretania is the restaurant of the Royal Mackintosh Hotel and is named after a ship, some of whose timbers are in the restaurant. We were staying at the Dunmuir but had a meal here one night. The food and service were both good View all feedback. What A9888EFmcdoodle doesn't like about Mauretania:
Food is really basic. Burger chips doesn't even come with a side salad. It's like a teenager plated the food up using minimum amount of ingredients. The steak was cooked well, the chips tasted odd, not sure if it's the oil they use. Again very basic grub and not worth the price. The burger sauce they smoothed on the bread bun is dreadful View all feedback.

read moreThe overall consensus is that the restaurant offers basic and average food, with some complaints about lack of side options and odd tasting chips. The staff are generally friendly but can be overwhelmed at times. The hotel, however, was praised for its cleanliness, friendly staff, and convenient location. There were some noise issues in room 10, but the food was tasty. Overall, the restaurant and hotel received mixed reviews with specific areas needing improvement, but the majority of guests appreciated the service and amenities provided.
