At The Bowd Inn, diners experience a blend of friendly service and varied culinary outcomes. While the carvery is often highlighted as a centerpiece—boasting a good selection of meats and vegetables—experiences can vary. Some guests have found certain dishes underwhelming, with frozen ingredients and bland flavors detracting from the overall experience. However, many praise the warm atmosphere and attentive staff, who strive to accommodate special dietary requests. We really enjoy Sunday lunches, especially carveries. After researching, we decided to try out the Bowd Inn and found it to be quite popular at 12:30pm.

The restaurant was fully booked inside, so we had to sit at a table outside with some smokers and dogs. The staff were friendly, however the food we ordered was disappointing - just frozen chips, peas, and scampi. The soup was just average. The Carvery seemed to be their main focus of the day and it looked good. It's a pity that the other menu options were not as impressive.

We came here on Sunday for a carousel. the staff was very polite and friendly, but the carvery was far away from standards. meat was extremely dry when they got a little water in the broccoli and cauliflower cheese where it was frozen. frozen yorkshires, the kartoffels were dry and seemed like they were kartoffel yesterday and the gravure was tasteless. we both barely ate something on our teller. they took it out of the bill. we visited this place last year and had a bad experience, so we might think we would give him another one away and that's the last time. it is sad that a nice pub in a big opposite can not serve big diners. if they don't make up average eating, then this is the place for them, but we love our eating, we know good eating especially with my partner as an ex-chew. the horns and bitches have a much better quality carvery if they are looking for a reasonable price, but it is much more businessy there and they can see why.

We have had the homemade steak and ale pie several times and I can honestly say it’s consistently the best I’ve ever eaten! Great, friendly service demonstrated by the fact that they even put together the pie as a takeaway. Highly recommended. Price per person: £30–40 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
