It was relatively quiet inside, so we were quickly... read more On a sunny Tuesday evening, we arrived at the restaurant Leaniz Jatetxea after a long search on Google Maps. It was relatively quiet inside, so we were quickly escorted to our table with plastic chairs by the friendly smiling waitress. The restaurant looked attractive, with the theme of cycling. The restaurant 's offer consists of a huge amount of Italian dishes, and the range of pizzas in particular can be called extensive. The selection includes traditional pizzas, such as the acclaimed Pizza Margherita, as well as less conventional choices, such as a Pizza Marco Polo. This was a calzone pizza which has been spiked with spices that could be described as curry spices by a person not familiar with Indian cuisine. We ordered a pizza Margherita and a pizza Marco Polo. To quench our thirst, we also ordered two glasses of white wine. We tried to order this in Spanish, where we were kindly but insistently pointed out our grammatical errors by the waitress. Just under 15 minutes later our pizzas arrived at our table. The pizzas had a crispy base and a generous amount of cheese. These cheese pizzas were so filling that you were happy when the cheese slid off your pizza. In addition, the cheese mainly tasted like plastic and only the crusts were really tasty. Whether the tomato sauce was good no one will ever know because the load of cheese drove out the tomato sauce taste. Fortunately, there was chili oil available to give the cheese a bit of flavor, but that was not allowed to help either. After having eaten 4 pieces (and all crusts) we kindly, but insistently asked for the bill. We were not asked what we thought of the pizza, so with this one, less cheese. For €28 euros you have pizza with wine. The only question is whether you shouldn 't just order a cheese board if you fancy cheese.
