We were excited to be able to get a night at the Strater Hotel always wanted to stay there. Check in was easy and flawless. The hotel has such character and history. Upon check in we went to our room I always look over the linens, just because. There were four (4) bed pillows on the bed, and each and every one of them had hair all over them. Disgusting. We had new pillowcases sent to the room out of the four delivere... View all feedback.
Our total stay was absolutely excellent. from the time we checked in with the two friendly hearts at the reception to enjoy a fantastic dinner in the mahogany grille, local craft beer at the diamond belle (with a world class ragtime piano player and not to mention the vintage, clean rooms the road went beyond and beyond to ensure that our stay was spectacular and that our time in durango was unforgettable. While we also loved the more dramatic, because there are only a few minutes walk from the Durango-Silverton train, tons of restaurants and bars, truly, we would just come back to durango to stay in the more abstract and enjoy all that it has to offer!
Had a great experience and stayed here. hotel was clean and comfortable. the people were super nice, friendly and helpful. not sure why, but we did not experience the restaurants. had so many possibilities in durango we simply didn't get the opportunity to use the hotels. room was comfortable and clean and no stupid masks. had a great time and from the 3 weeks we visited the state, this could have been the best.
This is an old building from the late 18th century, which once served as a buzz of the city. the hotel has the old feeling, along with folding floorboards, and maybe some peeling wallpaper. but it radiates a wonderful character as if they had returned 120 years in the time. my room was once the orderly madame and allegedly persecuted. there was also allegedly a hidden passage behind the headboard of the bette. (There was a small paper about the history of the space I did not experience, just a really good posture. the room was a bit small, but decorated in plush time, and modern things like tw and internet. when parked, there is a small amount above the 7th st with some clearing, or a bigger one behind the tracks. not the cheapest room, but also a great location in the inner city of durango, making it easy to walk to the small shops and restaurants.
I usually don't write reviews, but if a hostess in restaurant strater hotel (diamond belle) goes beyond the call to be rude, I have to call it out. my wife and I wanted to be on place 10/22/21 at 5. the host told us that no tables were available. she informed us that they don't make a waiting list, it comes 1. served, and no we can't wait. outcast, hanging outside to look at our next step, 2 parties came out. we decide to try again. a party moved from the bar to one of the available tables. when we asked about the other table, we were told that only for parties of 4. the first policy therefore also includes the right number in their group. we were never offered in the bar seats. I will never be back and suggest this place to anyone. I would also suggest that they find a different choice of mapping because the customer service is not it.
We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay at the Strater Hotel. The front desk staff was very helpful and accommodating when we had to change our arrival day due to an impending storm that was going to prevent us from getting there safely. Room was comfortable& clean and a good size too. We enjoyed the entertainment at the “Office” for drinks, appetizers and dessert. On our second night, we loved the rag time piano player while we had dinner and drinks at the Diamond Bell Saloon. Like most places, they were short staffed but they did a great job handling a lot of customers. We’ll be back!!
