Would never have expected to have so many vegan options at a rural pub! At least 4 main vegan options and two different vegan desserts. Staff were super helpful with small details like bringing us vegan 'butter ' for our new potatoes. Their wine menu was also clearly labelled with vegan choices and they had an alcohol free wine on the menu, which is so unusual but super helpful addition. Definitely book ahead as they were full when I tried to go back again in the same week.
This charming country pub overlooks Loch Eck and offers a limited but diverse menu with vegan options. The main menu includes three vegan dishes such as five bean chilli and cauliflower dhansak curry, while the lunch menu has two vegan options. The prices for dinner dishes are around £12-£13 and include choices like a filo pastry parcel with veg filling. The lunch menu features a choice of white or malted baguette with vegan fillings like coronation chickpea and vegan cheese with chutney. Each dish comes with a side of chips, salad, or soup. The portions are generous and satisfying, priced at £6.50 each. We dined here twice and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. Highly recommended for a tasty vegan meal with a view.
We enjoyed a scrumptious meal at the restaurant, featuring a flavorful vegetable Wellington served with peas and fries. Unfortunately, they did not have vegan mayo available, but luckily we had our own squeeze bottle on hand, which caught the curiosity of our waiter. For dessert, we indulged in three generous scoops of Salty Caramel Vegan Ice Cream Custard, which were delicious but quite filling.
Stayed in the wee inn had some dinner and had a few vegan options I went for the vegan Wellington and he went for the tagine both were super tasty the vegetables tasted so good and so fresh would definitely come back here if I’m in the area
This place may not be entirely vegan, but they offer a wide variety of options in a secluded area of Argyll. In my opinion, they deserve a 5-star rating as you will always be greeted with a warm welcome at this charming country pub with rooms nestled in the stunning hills of the Cowal peninsula. The lunchtime soup and flatbreads with salad are delicious and reasonably priced. I highly recommend this place.
