Columbus Coffee - Dunedin

I used to love coming to this place. This time the staff appeared to be frazzled. Unfortunately after a water spillage on the table we asked for a cloth or napkin to clean it up ourselves. We were told a staff member would clean it up. The staff member came over to the table with a soaking wet cloth and barely wiped the table down leaving the table surface far wetter than originally. You got the feeling she didn't want to be there, was not customer service focused at all. The cheese scones here used to be sublime, this time it was disappointing and barely tasted like cheese was in it. Service was below average. Will not be coming back.

One of the many cafes around Dubedin that sell a wide variety of delicious food. Large eating areas and great for parking as it is located in Mitre 10.

Sadly the food has deteriorated. The salmon bagel $15 consisted of a dry tough toasted bagel, a huge lump of cream cheese mixed with horseradish and two pieces of thin salmon beetroot dry jellied dry. One had to leave due to the taste. The salad leaves were dry. Dirty cutlery was what pushed me to rate it. It was terrible. I’ve come back a few times but unfortunately this hasn’t improved. If you want a coffee and a cake it’s ok. Which looks like is what most of the other ratings discussed.

We go here often for coffee and food. It is a busy wee place but the service is good, staff friendly, the food is consistent and there are plenty of options from a menu or in the cabinet. Also nice coffee.
