Plenty of meat, some fries – simple, hearty, and filling. Nothing fancy, but a plate that did the job. Then, however, came the surprise: no dessert. No coffee. In a restaurant owned by Croatians – a people who take coffee almost as seriously as hospitality itself – this is a minor gastronomic paradox. After so many years traveling the world, this was truly a first. And yet: I would come back. Perhaps one day there will be coffee – and the story will finally have its happy ending.
