What Davbuck53 doesn't like about Loyal Lodge:
I went to this restaurant for Sunday lunch but was disappointed. It was freezing cold inside and there were no vegetarian options available. I couldn't even cut the Yorkshire pudding, and the potatoes and cauliflower were both rock hard. We only ordered desserts to fill us up, and they came out in separate batches. The bar pumps were not working either. Overall, I will not be returning to this restaurant. View all feedback.
Had a wonderful Christmas lunch with the family, good friendly service, lovely food ,our favourite pub , thanks and a Merry Christmas all xx
Popped in for a few treats with some friends whilst on our break, and it did not disappoint! it had been my first time going to the Loyal Lodge and the service was absolutley outstanding and the food made itself out in no time. Food was served at a perfect temperature with a nice and friendly atmosphere to surround it. Really recommend the pulled pork nachos and cookie dough! They wont disappoint :
Fab place, friendly and helpful staff, good food, decent menu and all reasonably priced! 5 stars
If I could this would be a 4 1/2. It has to be one of the best eating out we've had. We had previously visited the location with family for a drink and we were encouraged to come back for a meal on a Sunday. The first thing that struck us on our first visit was the friendliness and welcoming staff. There's not much choice of draft ales, three lagers and a cider though they do have bottled ales, ciders. Hot drinks are also available. The choice on the menu was very unusual a touch of traditional pub grub but with a slight twist (chicken Balti pie delicious . Italian pasta, burgers, curry, a touch of Chinese. I had the chicken balti pie it had a hidden heat and a rich taste to it and had plenty of chicken in with a red and green chilli protruding from the puff pastry (only eat the red chilli if you dare. I like things hot but... It came with triple cooked chips and thin slices of nan bread. A majority of the menu comes with a choice of triple cooked chips, baked potato or potato. My daughter had the meat lasagne (there's a veg option . My wife had a spicy chicken/onions/salad thick nan wrap with triple cooked chips. The child's menu offers nuggets, sausage or fish fingers with chips. The deserts were the only disappointment the cheesecake portions were small for £4.50 whereas my daughter's crumble was a meal in itself they come with cream, custard or ice cream. On Sundays, they also offer a roast though non of the party partook they looked to be decent portions The service was excellent. Definitely will be returning, highly recommended. Would suggest booking if you have a large party and especially on a Sunday it's usually busy.
Visited the Loyal Lodge this evening with my daughter (she treated me for my birthday). Was greeted with the warmest of welcomes by the bar staff and seated in a lovely corner. Food was served very swiftly by an extremely friendly waitress. Our dinner was piping hot and tasted divine. We ate far too much but couldn’t leave it as it was far too tasty! Will be returning without hesitation very soon. Thank you to the team.
