Had Saturday special, hot roast beef open sandwich with Mashed potatoes, EXCELLENT!!Service was great. Diane and Shelby great waitresses!
Stopped in 9/12/23 for lunch. First of all was the service. Bonnie our waitress was way over the top. She was beyond excellent! She walked complete circles around the younger girls who were working! We need more like her in the workforce. Food was good, prices reasonable and pretty good visit all around. We live near Wisconsin Dells and we will be back to see Bonnie on our next trip!
While the restaurant is popular for its sandwiches, the breakfast options are also quite good. The menu is very traditional, so don't expect to find items like bran muffins or yogurt parfaits. The breakfast options include sausage, eggs, bacon, and a choice of white or wheat bread for $6.50. I will definitely return in the future.
I was quite disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. For $11.64, I received just three small pancakes, two strips of bacon, and two eggs cooked over easy. After adding a $3 tip, my total came to nearly $15 for a meal that felt more like it was worth around $6. Both the food quality and the service were just average. If you're looking for better value for your money, you might want to eat somewhere else. I wouldn't completely rule out returning, especially if I were with friends, but I certainly wouldn't choose to come alone. Having company helps make up for the lack of satisfaction you'll get otherwise!
The decor is quite unexpected, taking you straight back to a 1950s diner. I give it one star just for that. As for the food, it’s your typical Maid-Rite experience. It’s the kind of place where you might not want to see behind the counter, but I guess that adds to the authenticity. The staff was friendly; they accidentally gave me fries instead of cheese curds but quickly fixed the mistake and let me keep the fries, which was a nice gesture. I ordered the Chiliburger, which was open-faced and quite large. If you're familiar with Maid-Rite, you know what to expect here. The fresh 50s vibe really enhances the overall experience. However, Maid-Rites used to be cheap, and that’s no longer the case. I suppose that’s a trend we’re seeing everywhere these days.
