Reservations were for 5:30 and we arrived on time after a nice walk in downtown. Staff in the evening were very pleasant. We sat down after we were asked if that was okay (we thought it was because we were older? It felt like being in a dungeon! There was only a couple in the basement. Would you recommend if you are asked to go down to reject (if you are not a big group and then it would be great. I had the pork with Korean BBQ sauce and curry rices. My wife had the risotto cake with chicken. We both agreed that the food was fine, but unfortunately was not very tasteful. I really wanted to like everything, but in the end it would say it was just OK. It was fun to try a new place in town. Wish them good

The Butternut Squash... read more While being rated as the number one restaurant in Dubuque carries some significance, only part of our meal truly lived up to that standard. The Butternut Squash Quark and pear pizza were incredibly interesting and delicious, and the spinach Caesar salad was excellent. The pepper steak soup was rich in flavor and beautifully presented. However, the Mediterranean pasta lacked taste and overall appeal. Because of this, my rating is lower than anticipated. The duck did not meet the expectations of a top-ranking dish either. On a positive note, the staff was very friendly, but they often forgot to replace our silverware. As a result, I can't fully endorse this restaurant as number one.

High qua... read more If you are in Dubuque and looking for an excellent place to dine, this is it. There is a very good reason it is the top rated establishment in Dubuque. High quality menu selections, great presentation, very good service and very nice ambiance. The menu has something for everyone without being pages long (always a dangerous sign) and priced reasonably. The hostess (Emma) is a darling always trying to accommodate special requests and ensuring her clients are having a nice experience. If you don’t try this place you are missing out.
