Kool Daddy’s Bbq - Dublin
Kool Daddy’s Bbq
Description
In the heart of Columbus, this BBQ restaurant presents a mixed bag of experiences. While the atmosphere is warm and inviting, many guests lament poor service and long waits, often exacerbated by a seemingly understaffed environment. The food receives mixed reviews; the brisket and nachos are praised, yet other items like the pulled pork and sides fall short in flavor or quality. Though renovations are still underway, the owner is actively engaging with customers and seeking improvements. Despite its challenges, the restaurant shows promise, particularly for those willing to navigate its growing pains in pursuit of decent BBQ.

Love the Texas Nachos. So flavorful and a nice gluten free option. Always great service and delicious drinks.
I am uncertain how long this restaurant will remain open. My family and I decided to visit on a whim one Friday night and it was not very busy. We were disappointed to find out that they were out of ribs, as indicated with a disclaimer on the menu. There is no kids menu, so we ended up ordering a taco and a side dish to share for our young children. My husband and father-in-law ordered some pounds of meat, but we ended up having to wait longer than expected because they were out of sausage and needed to order something else. My flank steak was tasty, but they do not have plain ranch dressing. There are definitely some issues that need to be addressed, and sadly, I doubt this restaurant will survive for long.
This place has the worst food and service I ordered brisket tacos and they served them with sliced brisket instead of chopping the meat up and it's was all fat I would not send my worst enemy there
Good service and owners are actively looking for feedback. Nice environment overall. We each ordered something different along with multiple sides. Great night!
I was craving some delicious, smoky, tender ribs and mac and cheese, so I called the restaurant to inquire about the menu options. When I arrived, I found the entrance to be lacking in character and in need of some improvement. Unfortunately, they had run out of mac and cheese by the time I got there. The ribs I ordered were a bit dry and overcooked, but still tender. They lacked the smoky flavor I was hoping for and seemed like they had been reheated. The price of $22 for a full slab of ribs is below market value, which may explain the quality of the food. The interior of the restaurant could also use some updating, as it appears to be in need of a new coat of paint and better lighting. The presentation of the ribs was sloppy, as it seemed like they had been torn in half rather than properly cut. Despite these issues, I appreciated the prompt service and the friendly staff. In the end, I would give the restaurant 3 stars, with the potential to be a 2 if it weren't for the helpful greeters.
