Mama Yo
Description
**Mama Yo: A Mixed Feast of Decor and Dining Experience**
Nestled in Dublin, Mama Yo boasts stunning decor that creates an inviting ambiance perfect for socializing and Instagram-worthy moments. While the service is often praised for its attentiveness, the dining experience reveals a more polarized picture. Some patrons enjoyed flavorful dishes, like duck salad, while others found the food disappointing and overpriced, with small portions resembling local takeaways. Despite the atmosphere and friendly staff enhancing the experience, inconsistencies in food quality and execution leave many questioning the restaurant's standing. In summary, Mama Yo is a feast for the eyes but might not satisfy all culinary expectations.

The atmosphere is fantastic, and the decor is stunning. However, the service felt a bit overwhelmed, and the food was too rich for my liking, with heavy seasonings. The greens on my plate were roughly chopped, and the prosecco, priced around 40 euros, was served in a screw cap bottle. It’s a great spot for making an impression, but not the best choice for food. The decor is absolutely fantastic and perfect for Instagram. Our group of eight was seated at a large round table, which made for a very sociable atmosphere. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing—small portions and not that much better than what you'd find at a local Chinese takeaway. The restaurant seemed understaffed, and those working there often avoided making eye contact when we needed to get their attention. Overall, I don’t think I’ll be in a hurry to return, as there are plenty of better options in Dublin. Service: Dine-in.
Have been wanting to try Mama Yo for ages! The interior is gorgeous and the ambiance on a Friday night was so enjoyable. Service was really good and staff are very helpful and friendly. So many great choices for starters, I highly recommend the vegetable spring rolls as they are the best I’ve tried! Also tried the soup dumpings which were pretty good. General Gau Chicken for main was tasty. Kung Po Chicken was good but was a bit cold when it arrived to the table. I was underwhelmed with the dessert options so didn’t get any, but the rest of the food made up for it. Overall a really nice dining experience, but after a second visit I would say that there are nicer places with better food and better prices in Dublin. Probably not quite worth the hype in my opinion .
