After having ch... read more We enjoyed all the food at FXBs but the service was just a bit scrappy. The main issue was that we weren't offered the Sunday Roast menu option. After having chosen from the main lunch menu, we spotted other tables getting the roast option with Yorkshire puddings which hadn't been on our menu. This caused a bit of consternation at our table. The breads starter took a good while to arrive, and we had to chase up on some soft drinks which had failed to arrive. The food itself was good, nice steak and nice sauces, but the service wouldn't have us rushing back for more.

We booked a dinner reservation at Fxb for this evening, but upon arrival, we were met with a very rude staff member who identified himself as Ramon, the general... read more We booked a dinner reservation at Fxb for this evening, but upon arrival, we were met with a very rude staff member who identified himself as Ramon, the general manager. He told us there were no tables available because we had our 4-month-old child with us, asleep in his car seat. He also said we should have arranged a babysitter like everyone else. However, there were several children present in the restaurant, and we even called earlier that day to confirm that bringing our baby was acceptable—the call was answered by a woman who assured us it was fine (see photo of the call). We understand the policy that children shouldn’t be allowed after 7:30pm, but at the time we arrived, it was only 6:45pm. I explained that we planned to leave by the time the restriction started. Despite this, Ramon remained extremely disrespectful, making rude gestures and even hitting my shoulder as I was leaving (CCTV footage can confirm this). We left feeling upset and discriminated against. Ramon’s behavior seemed bullying and reflects poorly on the FX Buckley brand. Leaving a negative review is not something we take lightly, but I urge others to avoid this place. The attached pictures include our booking confirmation, the cancellation made by FX Buckley when we left, and the call where we confirmed it was okay to bring our child.

Considering the quality of the food, the prices were very reasonable. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in Monkstown.

The staff in the restaurant... read more I couldn’t find a single fault with this restaurant. The bar was excellent, serving the best whisky sour and cosmopolitan cocktails. The staff in the restaurant were superb—friendly, engaging, and attentive. We started with the scallops, which were simply amazing, then ordered fillet and T-bone steaks cooked perfectly to our liking, accompanied by delicious sides. We shared a sticky toffee pudding, which was fantastic. This is the best F X Buckley I’ve been to—truly superb. Thanks for an outstanding meal and service.
