We visited this restaurant for a drink while staying in Dublin three years ago. The establishment is beautiful, the staff are very friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is lively and welcoming. The prices are a bit high, but that seems to be the norm in the Temple Bar area. What Anonym dislikes about Farringtons:
I have visited this restaurant a few times before when it was known as The Norseman. The prices for drinks were always high due to its location in Temple Bar, but recently they have become even more unreasonable. During a visit on a Thursday at 5pm, I was charged €6.40 for a pint of Heineken and €6 for a bottle of Sol. The prices are a bit high, but that seems to be the norm in the Temple Bar area. There is live music that ranges from popular songs to traditional Irish music, and it is not too loud to hinder conversation. The staff were interested to learn where we were from and what music we enjoyed. When we mentioned that we were from Greece and loved U2, they played U2 songs just for us and dedicated them to us. It was a truly unforgettable night.

During a visit on a Thursday at 5pm, I was charged €6.40 for a pint of Heineken and €6 for a bottle of Sol. I recommend going to the Porterhouse instead for a better selection of beer at more reasonable prices.
I had a wonderful dining experience at this restaurant. I ordered the beef and Guinness casserole, which was delicious. My companions ordered the fish and chips, which looked very appealing, and the steak on the stone, although it was slightly overcooked. We sat upstairs and enjoyed the music from the live performer downstairs, which was at a perfect volume. The service was prompt and the waitress was friendly. The location in the heart of Temple Bar is ideal. I can't wait to come back for another fantastic meal!
I have lived in Dublin for over 6 months now, and I have never experienced such rudeness as I did at the Norseman. Not only is the pub very overpriced, the manager made racist remarks to my friends and I, and then swore at me as he (very rudely) asked me to leave as I was not drinking alcohol, despite being a part of a large group. I understand that he has a business to run, however that does not excuse his complete and utter lack of common decency. For the price you pay in this pub, I would recommend anywhere else for being cheaper, nicer and having better atmosphere. I would not waste any of your time or money here.
Popped in here after a bad meal in another pub. Asked if we could just have puddings No problem at all. Waitress was lovely and helpful. Found us a table straight away. I had traditional Irish bread and butter pudding which was delicious. Great live music in the background too. Recommend this place!
