Is it possible to combine a German beer garden with Indian cuisine? that believes scheunecafe in dresden and we wanted to see if we agreed. when we saw the caff... read more Is it possible to combine a German beer garden with Indian cuisine? that believes scheunecafe in dresden and we wanted to see if we agreed. when we saw the caffe in happy kuh, we thought it was a normal cozy caffe among the other restaurants on the street. but the place is so big that we did not notice it first. we soon found out that they want to have a good lunch here, drink some beer or – as we did – enjoy a nice breakfast to keep us full for a whole day of going and the tourist. we chose a table in their large sitting area in the open (as should be a beer garden and had a look at the menu. They had only two vegan options for morning meal, so we both ordered a “veganes breakfast” – two pieces bread with a plate of several different spreads. some of them as the tomato paste (our favorite! the hummus and the avocado cream, were homemade, while the crispy peanut butter, the jam and probably also the brot were most likely bought (it has at least tasted so) hands down for the homemade spreads, but the rest? well, it was okay, and we went with full, but otherwise it was nothing special. so even if they can combine a beer garden with an Indian restaurant, we would still believe that it is better if they are separated. or they just have to put more effort into the eating part, because we would rather suggest this place for these Saturday drinks.

The c... read more The restaurant was only half full. We had to wait over an hour for breakfast… After ordering, we noticed that several dishes and cheeses were unavailable. The cook didn't arrive until around 11:00 (they open at 9:00)… The food was rather cold, or at least not nice and hot. The cake was great. The service was still very good. We had made a reservation in advance.
