This restaurant is a pure genie! the menu changes and is written on a chalkboard above the bar. when we were there, they offered 1 salat, 1 suppe, a vegetarian main dish, 2 more main dishes and 2 desserts. so much creativity and soul went into the food and it was all fabulous. our group of 4 had a soup soup, and then all shared an salat with mozzarella and polnta with vegetables. each dish offered us food combinations that we had never tried, and it was all delicious. we received a free basket of fresh backbrot (still warm that we were informed also changes after the creativity of the cook. we need to try a brot made with gurke and red pfeffer. the brot was served with a garlic butter. the waiter/bartender showed a deep love to his restaurant and eat. he took care of us and asked for feedback to each court. we were only disappointed that we could only bring it into this restaurant once in dresden.
We had dinner here with a group of five and the experience now is among my favorite trips to a restaurant ever. The place itself is very beautiful and cozy, with some of the tables a little tucked away and the rest with a view...of the open kitchen, where you can watch the chefs create the brilliant dishes they have on the menu that night. The menu itself is indeed quite small, only two starters, three main dishes (one of which was vegetarian) and two desserts, but everything was amazing. There is little point in going into the details of our dishes because it is unlikely that you will have the same options when you get here, but suffice it to say that the roasted duck breast I had was definitely one of the best I have ever had. Grilled to perfection, seasoned with style, and accompanied by seasonal and delicious wintery vegetables and sides pure perfection. The service was very friendly, leaning almost a little bit towards too familiar, which might not be everyone's favorite style, but we definitely enjoyed it. Prices are just fine with the most expensive main dish option going up to 18 EUR. You definitely get your money's worth. When in Dresden, make sure to get a table here! You will not regret it!
I feel like this restaurant is highly underrated and deserves way more accolades on here! From the moment you walk in, you feel heart behind this restaurant. Besides the chef whom is utterly creative and know exactly how to please the palette, the service staff...is a one man show. The bar tender, owner( and waiter all in one--makes every effort to create an incredible experience for his guests. This place has so much charm and so much to offer! The menu changes weekly, using the freshest, seasonal ingredients from the region. You choose from just a few items on a chalk board and can enjoy a nice, long, cosy evening. We come here regularly and hope to continue to see this place flourish!
Best restaurant in the Neustadt district... it's sad that tonight is the last night... We'll miss it
