My friend and I had a delicious lunch in The Gilmore. We both had honey chilli chicken strips. Delicious with friendly service and comfortable surroundings
ON THE 30TH MARCH MY WIFE AND I HAD EVENING DINNER AT GILMORE RESTAURAN, I HAD RIB OF BEEF AND ORDERED PEAS AS AN EXTRA,MY WIFE HAD ROAST OF THE DAY WHICH WAS TURKEY AND HAM. WHEN MY MEAL ARRIVED IT CONSISTED OF A SMALL PIECE OF STRINGY MEAT PARTIALLY BURNT, WITH A LARGE BARE BONE APPROX, 100CM LONG BY 30 CM WIDE ON TOP OF THE MEAT. I ASKED THE WAITER THE REASON FOR THIS BONE AND HE SAID IT WAS FOR DECORATION, I WAS TOLD THAT NO PEAS WERE AVAILABLE. MY MEAL CONSISTED OF A PIECE OF STRINGY MEAT AND MASHED POTATOES NO VEGETABLES AND NO ROAST POTATOES. THE WAITER OFFERED TO REPLACE THE MEAL AND I REFUSED, THE REASON BEING IF THE CHEF COULDN'T COOK A PIECE OF MEAT AS DESCRIBED ON THE MENU THERE WAS NO POINT. MY WIFES MEAL CONSISTING OFF, ONE THIN PIECE OF OVERCOOKED TURKEY AND HAM 90 PER CENT OF THE MEAL CONSISTED OF VEGETABLES WITH A WHOLE CARROT CUT IN HALF ACCROSS THE MEAL. I CONTACTED THE HOTEL THE FOLLOWINF MONDAY AND SPOKE TO SIOBHAN WHO SAID FIONA IS THE MANGER AND WOULD MAKE CONTACT ME, THIS HAS NOT HAPPENED. WE WERE VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE MEAL AS WE HAVE BEEN REGULAR CUSTOMERS WITH THE MILLBROOK FOR MANY YEARS. GEORGE PHYLLIS .
We went here for mothers day lunch and it did not disappoint. They were incredibly busy so we were ten minutes late getting our table but they were super apologetic. My mother in law and I had prawn cocktail to start which had small bits of red onion, tomato, lettuce and avocado it was absolutely delicious and well seasoned. My husband had the pancetta Caesar salad which was lovely. We had roast been and the rolled chicken in peppercorn sauce the portion sizes much too big, could have easily halved the amount and it would still have been too much. My husband and mother in law had apple crumble and passion fruit cheesecake for dessert. The Malbec wine was really nice too. Overall fabulous experience, friendly atmosphere and the staff are always so friendly. Everywhere was spotless too
We recently enjoyed a beautiful lunch in Millbrook Lodge, it’s right beside Montalto gardens , a lovely way to relax after walking the gardens nearby. Very friendly staff, great food and reasonable prices.
My daughters wedding venue... I found the staff great.. The place is beautiful and plenty of light in the reception rooms... The wedding meal was great and my hat of to the chef as I have never tasted a more tender piece of meat.. The soup, the sweet was fantastic.. And the next day the breakfast was great. Buffet and I loved it and the little lady that nothing was a problem lightened up the day.... I would certainly recommend this venue for your wedding, really I was so happy with them.. There is only one thing that goes against the hotel and it comes from my daughter and her mother in law.. She was actually sold on this place by a guy called Damien who was the wedding planner for the hotel, made them feel so relaxed and nothing could not be worked out... Seems he had left and the women who took over stressed my daughter no end.. From asking for more money as she was on the wrong tariff but she was on the right one, to saying that what was agreed for the children staying in some rooms had to be changed and even sent an email of b@b in the area.. So some guests could not come.. Another one was demanding that everything be out before 6 the next morning as it had been booked for another event, which as we all know that is certainly not viable for a wedding and not letting the flower arrangers down the day before as an event had been booked but my daughter was assured that she had the day before for the organisers to make it just right for her... So a last minute job was done that night... I do not know what that wedding planners name is but I would say if you do book get everything in righting and make her stick to it... From a guy called Damien who made my daughter overjoyed and relaxed and helpful to a women who it seems had my daughter in tears at times and done everything to change what was already agreed.. I know this part is long winded but I am annoyed that I find this out after the wedding how 1 person stressed her big day no end..
The Millbrook offers a charming countryside venue with delicious food, friendly staff, and reasonable prices. While some reviewers found the menu lacking in variety and wished for more options, others praised the food quality and attentive service. A private function at the lodge was described as beautiful and charming, with prompt and efficient service. The Gilmore restaurant has improved over time, with friendly and helpful staff serving well-priced, well-presented dishes. Overall, the Millbrook is a recommended spot for a lovely meal in a stunning setting, perfect for special occasions or simply a relaxing lunch.

We visited Millbrook today for the Carvery, and it was fantastic! The staff were welcoming and friendly, making us feel right at home. I had been intending to try it for a while whenever we passed by, and I’m so glad we finally did!
What a fantastic hotel! The function room and gardens are some of the most stunning you'll find in Northern Ireland. The decor is beautiful, and the attention to personal service truly makes it special.

My Uncle and his wife booked myself and my husband into the Millbrook for our wedding night in April as a gift. On arrival we were greeted by a lovely man, who offered us tea/coffee then escorted us to our room. We were upgraded to the rectory suite. I have to say, it was a gorgeous room, we were so comfortable the whole night. We didn't want to leave the following morning. We had breakfast in the Gilmore? (I think that's the name) we both had a cooked breakfast and have to say, food was delicious, very well presented, quick service and staff very friendly. We will definitely be returning in future. The entire experience and stay was 5*
I haven't been for a meal in the Millbrook for some years. But I've been hearing good reports I decided to try for myself. The food was excellent. Great quality of steak and portion sizes of sides. The desserts were also delicious. And the service was second to none. Highly recommended.

The highlight of my stay was the afternoon tea on the second day. It was truly amazing and I was in awe when it was served to me. The chef clearly put in a lot of effort and research to make it the best afternoon tea/food I have ever had in Northern Ireland. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone with allergies, as I was extremely well taken care of. The restaurant decor is also lovely and modern, offering nice views of the garden.
The set menu on Sundays is fantastic value. Good wholesome food and fair sized portions. Everyone in the large party we went with thoroughly enjoyed it.
We chose the Milbrook Lodge Hotel to host our daughter's wedding and we were extremely impressed. The staff welcomed us warmly and paid close attention to every detail. The food quality was excellent, and the venue was perfect for the wedding meal, evening celebration, and photo opportunities in the grounds. Many of our guests stayed overnight and found the rooms to be of high quality, clean, and comfortable. We would highly recommend the Milbrook as a 5-star venue - everything was top-notch.
We celebrated my daughter's wedding at the Milbrook Lodge and I must say, I cannot praise this venue enough. They made every effort to accommodate us and ensure our stay was enjoyable. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. I want to give a special mention to our wedding coordinator who ensured everything ran seamlessly. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend the Milbrook Lodge to anyone.
Called in for late lunch/early dinner on a Thursday afternoon. Gilmore’s restaurant was quiet so service was quick. The staff were attentive and friendly. We ate from the dinner menu. Portions were good and all the food was well cooked and well presented. We had mains of steak sandwich and grilled lamb. My wife followed with the cheese board while I was delighted with my apple and cinnamon crumble. Very pleasant surroundings, attentive staff, good food and good value for money.
