Reviews - Millbrook Lodge
Reviews summary
The Millbrook offers a charming countryside venue with delicious food, friendly staff, and reasonable prices. While some reviewers found the menu lacking in variety and wished for more options, others praised the food quality and attentive service. A private function at the lodge was described as beautiful and charming, with prompt and efficient service. The Gilmore restaurant has improved over time, with friendly and helpful staff serving well-priced, well-presented dishes. Overall, the Millbrook is a recommended spot for a lovely meal in a stunning setting, perfect for special occasions or simply a relaxing lunch.

What a fantastic hotel! The function room and gardens are some of the most stunning you'll find in Northern Ireland. The decor is beautiful, and the attention to personal service truly makes it special. View all feedback.
What Cibdytobsr dislikes about Millbrook Lodge:
Form the first seconds in this lodge it was very apparent that very few of the hotel staff had been trained in hospital from the the front of house right up till what I have been told was a general manager, this lady played the host and toast master at the wedding I was attending, she was sour faced and very rude to quite a few of the guests just unacceptable behaviour, the bar staff seemed miserable and the children... My friend and I had a delicious lunch in The Gilmore. We both had honey chilli chicken strips. Delicious with friendly service and comfortable surroundings
Stayed at the Millbrook for 8 nights. I want to thank Gerty and all the team for a wonderful experience. Breakfast was excellent as living in Italy I do miss an Irish breakfast every so often. We used the restaurant a few times and food was amazing. The grounds are beautiful and we enjoyed walking around. Only one problem, wish we could have stayed longer. Kate and Luciano
ON THE 30TH MARCH MY WIFE AND I HAD EVENING DINNER AT GILMORE RESTAURAN, I HAD RIB OF BEEF AND ORDERED PEAS AS AN EXTRA,MY WIFE HAD ROAST OF THE DAY WHICH WAS TURKEY AND HAM. WHEN MY MEAL ARRIVED IT CONSISTED OF A SMALL PIECE OF STRINGY MEAT PARTIALLY BURNT, WITH A LARGE BARE BONE APPROX, 100CM LONG BY 30 CM WIDE ON TOP OF THE MEAT. I ASKED THE WAITER THE REASON FOR THIS BONE AND HE SAID IT WAS FOR DECORATION, I WAS TOLD THAT NO PEAS WERE AVAILABLE. MY MEAL CONSISTED OF A PIECE OF STRINGY MEAT AND MASHED POTATOES NO VEGETABLES AND NO ROAST POTATOES. THE WAITER OFFERED TO REPLACE THE MEAL AND I REFUSED, THE REASON BEING IF THE CHEF COULDN'T COOK A PIECE OF MEAT AS DESCRIBED ON THE MENU THERE WAS NO POINT. MY WIFES MEAL CONSISTING OFF, ONE THIN PIECE OF OVERCOOKED TURKEY AND HAM 90 PER CENT OF THE MEAL CONSISTED OF VEGETABLES WITH A WHOLE CARROT CUT IN HALF ACCROSS THE MEAL. I CONTACTED THE HOTEL THE FOLLOWINF MONDAY AND SPOKE TO SIOBHAN WHO SAID FIONA IS THE MANGER AND WOULD MAKE CONTACT ME, THIS HAS NOT HAPPENED. WE WERE VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE MEAL AS WE HAVE BEEN REGULAR CUSTOMERS WITH THE MILLBROOK FOR MANY YEARS. GEORGE PHYLLIS .
Attended wedding reception staff, accommodation, food and surroundings could not be faulted. Staff, very courteous, patient professional. The accommodation was outstanding, beautiful reception room meticulously set up on the day. The food was of very high quality served promptly by staff who were very proficient in performing their roles. The grounds afforded excellent photo opportunities. The bedrooms were luxurious to say the least. I would have no hesitation in recommending the hotel for wedding reception we intend to visit again soon for a family get together. I cannot praise the staff highly enough they made the day a very memorable and magical occasion

We held our wedding at Millbrook Lodge on Saturday, October 14th, and we cannot recommend it highly enough. It is the ideal venue for a wedding. The food was exquisite, and the staff were exceptional. Gemma was an absolute gem—so helpful throughout the entire planning process. The venue itself is incredibly picturesque and perfect for weddings. It was truly the best day of our lives, and we are so glad we chose Millbrook Lodge; there isn’t a thing we would change about our day! Thank you to everyone who helped make our celebration absolutely perfect. We had an amazing time, and so did all our guests. Thank you!
Our daughter got married in the Millbrook Lodge Hotel on Friday the 15th June 2018. From the day we viewed the hotel as a possible venue for the wedding the staff have been so friendly and welcoming anytime we visited. On the day we were treated like royalty from start to finish and all our guests are talking about what a fabulous hotel it is and how amazing the food was. Brendan and Louise the banqueting managers were excellent at making sure everything went smoothly, all the waiting staff and receptionists were so polite and constantly checking on us and making sure everything was perfect for us. I would highly recommend getting married in this Hotel, they made our Daughter and Son in Laws dream come true and gave the guests a day they would never forget too! Many thanks Dave Trish.
My Uncle and his wife booked myself and my husband into the Millbrook for our wedding night in April as a gift. On arrival we were greeted by a lovely man, who offered us tea/coffee then escorted us to our room. We were upgraded to the rectory suite. I have to say, it was a gorgeous room, we were so comfortable the whole night. We didn't want to leave the following morning. We had breakfast in the Gilmore? (I think that's the name) we both had a cooked breakfast and have to say, food was delicious, very well presented, quick service and staff very friendly. We will definitely be returning in future. The entire experience and stay was 5*
Had afternoon tea just two weeks ago and I can honestly say it was thee best afternoon tea I've ever had! There were 13 of us and two babies and the service was fantastic and the food quality and quantity was brilliant, couldn't fault it and would definitely recommend it!
We had our wedding here at the end of August, everything went to well. I would highly recommend this as a wedding venue, the place is spacious and stunning. Gemma is a credit to the place, she took extra special care of us and a lot of guests on the wedding said is very good at what she does.

The highlight of my stay was the afternoon tea on the second day. It was truly amazing and I was in awe when it was served to me. The chef clearly put in a lot of effort and research to make it the best afternoon tea/food I have ever had in Northern Ireland. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone with allergies, as I was extremely well taken care of. The restaurant decor is also lovely and modern, offering nice views of the garden.
The set menu on Sundays is fantastic value. Good wholesome food and fair sized portions. Everyone in the large party we went with thoroughly enjoyed it.
We chose the Milbrook Lodge Hotel to host our daughter's wedding and we were extremely impressed. The staff welcomed us warmly and paid close attention to every detail. The food quality was excellent, and the venue was perfect for the wedding meal, evening celebration, and photo opportunities in the grounds. Many of our guests stayed overnight and found the rooms to be of high quality, clean, and comfortable. We would highly recommend the Milbrook as a 5-star venue - everything was top-notch.
We celebrated my daughter's wedding at the Milbrook Lodge and I must say, I cannot praise this venue enough. They made every effort to accommodate us and ensure our stay was enjoyable. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. I want to give a special mention to our wedding coordinator who ensured everything ran seamlessly. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend the Milbrook Lodge to anyone.
Called in for late lunch/early dinner on a Thursday afternoon. Gilmore’s restaurant was quiet so service was quick. The staff were attentive and friendly. We ate from the dinner menu. Portions were good and all the food was well cooked and well presented. We had mains of steak sandwich and grilled lamb. My wife followed with the cheese board while I was delighted with my apple and cinnamon crumble. Very pleasant surroundings, attentive staff, good food and good value for money.
