Reviews - Doc's Fish/Chips Cafe, Downpatrick
Reviews summary
Docs restaurant in Downpatrick has received mixed reviews. Some customers have complained about overcooked food, high prices, and incorrect orders. However, others have praised the restaurant's focus on fish and chips, fresh fish, and gluten-free options. Despite some negative feedback, loyal customers appreciate Docs for its quality and taste, even after moving to different countries. As prices increase, customers expect better quality to match. The restaurant's reputation has been affected by complaints of greasy battered fish, frozen baps, and rubbery chips. Though some reviewers vow to never return, others remain loyal to the establishment.

Was at downshire hospital, waiting on mum getting surgery. Went to docs for fish supper, it was mighty so nice and no grease. Gave the staff thumbs up before leaving as we ate in car.. So thought I would just give them a wee shout out in trip advisor too. View all feedback.
What Kate dislikes about Doc's Fish/Chips Cafe, Downpatrick:
Chips tasted like they had been heated up, chicken burger rubbery and scampi overcooked. Everything had been either heated up or over cooked. Docs used to be good. Won't be back for a long time View all feedback.

Fish was ok chips were basically raw. I ordered a meat pastor burger and was given a homemade pastie burger which was raw on the inside and burnt on the outside. Was sadly disappointed.
Very good fish supper.. lots on the menu..you can sit in too.. I did like the chips from Golden Chip better but they're closed now.. Normally priced and good staff.
Fish is nice, onion rings bit greasy other than that, fast service and friendly staffs

I regret to say that prices have gone up significantly: a chicken kebab is now £9, and chips cost £5. This is an increase from £2.50 and is simply unacceptable. I urge people to steer clear of this place; they are taking advantage of their customers. It's not worth the price hike, and it would be better for them to shut down than to continue such practices. Rating: Food: 1, Service: 1, Atmosphere: 1.
Where we were sitting there was a constant banging noise.very dissatisfied with my over priced burger very thin cheap burger inside a BAP wit more Lettuce than meat. Infact a mc donald burger would have been nicer. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: £20–30 Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2

Was in the downshire hospital, waiting for mama to get surgery. for fish sauce, it might be so beautiful and not fat. the workers up before we eat in the car. So I thought I'd give them only one who screams. also in the travel advisor.
I just have a fish chopper in docs worst ever chips rock hard fish over boiled not worth, I won't come back.
Very disappointing food today, more than meals bought for a work lunch and all were bad. A grease fest and looked like it was threw together...also my sausage supper was squashed at the bottom of the brown bag..will not be back.
Regular visitor here menu has a great choice, personal are always friendly and eating is top quality would recommend def!
