The staff was very welcoming and went out of their way to make our 5-year-old feel special. The menu offers a great mix of bistro classics and exciting small plates. We had a wonderful experience and thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

It seems that previous reviewers do not understand what small plates dining is like and cannot distinguish between high-quality cooking and average food (saying the food is pub-quality is ridiculous). The service is superb as well. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Deal!

Upon... read more We had been to the Frog &Scot many times before on our visits to Deal. This time we chose it for our wedding anniversary- and were completely disappointed. Upon arrival we were told that they “had stopped fine dining”and were only serving small plates. Plates were not once refreshed during very different courses and no small plate stood out. This is now pub food and mediocre which would be cheaper to eat in a pub. Do not be fooled by this restaurant’s awards from the past.

The town has charming shops, a beautiful beach, and a friendly atmosphere, enhanced by the lovely weather. Our Airbnb host recommended several local businesses, including Frog Scot, a cozy bistro known for its small plate offerings. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, taking the time to make recommendations and offer wine tastings. The dishes we tried were delicious, with fresh flavors and unique combinations. Even my picky partner was impressed. We had such a great time that we ended up staying and chatting with the staff instead of going for cocktails elsewhere. We will definitely be returning and want to thank the team at Frog Scot for a wonderful evening.

Small plate menus might not be for everyone, however the quality and flavour of the dishes is undeniable. I visited today for lunch with my wife and kids. I can honestly say it was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. I personally love the small plates concept, allowing you to sample several of the imaginative sharing plates. The staff are also outstanding. Warm, welcoming and good fun . . . As is the interior. Everything about this place is cool! We will be back again and again!
