Popped in for a midweek lunch, after seeing the off season £10 (2 course set menu) offer on Social Media. Portion size was really good, and we had no complaints about the food. We had the homemade soup to start, then Roast Chicken and linguini for mains, followed by fruit crumble custard. £15.50 for 3 courses!! Service was very good and the place was very busy which added to the atmosphere. The regular menu looked re... View all feedback.
What Chris Ellis dislikes about Coastguard Pub:
Its nice pub right in front of the beach. Easy car park, the road to go down to the beach a bit narrow. I can see the beautiful view from the Pub. The food was good and delicious, however it just ridiculous over price. Seems like the menu here more expensive than the meal at hotel. The service was OK, the waitress/ water seem busy with them self. Just bring the food to our table then thats it. We were shock to hear t... View all feedback.
On cold and windy day a cup of hot chocolate is definitely something you will enjoy Fish and chips for dinner was delicious and portion was really big The staff also managed to accommodate us for an hour before the booking and moved the table so we could sit with our dog in a safe distance from other dogs. I have returned all the way from Somerset to dine at the Coast Guard as usual my mobile phone thinks it's in France we were in Folkestone and they seem to shut down completely for the winter months, one of the reasons l couldn't live in a seaside town, so we got out of Dodge straight to the Coast Guard reliable service the Bigger Fish and chips you have ever seen! The service was spot on from the moment we arrived. Very dog friendly and very accommodating.
We went to the Coastguard Pub yesterday. We were welcomed in by the waiter. We had phoned ahead so our table was ready. We had our pug with us. They ensured she had water. The waiter was very friendly good banter. Food arrived quickly. A lovely fire was going so it was lovely and warm. The food was delicious and plenty. Definitely worth a trip for the view across the sea to France and the welcoming atmosphere. Food: 5
